Paul ince

Not sure why such a bad hand makes you stand on the touch line screaming at your hundred mile an hour son to stop and pass back like?

I can also recall him doing similar to the Dutch? winger we had on loan (who went on to great things but hardly got a look in under Ince).

Seriously, how the fuck can any club even consider Ince for the managers job? He has not managed anyone for eight years, he was potted from job after job before he was sussed out, on what basis have Reading given him the gig? It can't be on his CV which absolutely stinks of failure time after time, in his last four jobs at Blackburn, MK Dons, Notts County and Blackpool he lasted less than 12 months at all of them, seriously what does that tell any prospective new employer?

They deserve everything that's coming their way, absolutely clueless.
Already sat in the stands though, presumably in the chairman's ear, same reason he got the job here.

Undoubtedly a good player, but sadly lacking in intellect. His interviews are shockers. Another example of a manager given a chance on his name and not his talent or intelligence.

So many young coaches have studied hard, read widely and interview well but don’t have a stellar playing career. These are the ones you want to go for owners…. even if you still aren’t sure look at the background of Mourinho, Wenger, Paisley, Critch 😁 etc.

Agree with that

He does not interview well

Can’t remember whether it was @utmp or @SeasidersPodcast but one of them had an interview with Ben Burgess which touched on playing under ‘The Guv’nor’ at Notts … wasn’t flattering…

I recall he lost his last 10 at Notts County before being sacked and got 1 point in his last 9 with us before the sack. So, in the final games that got him sacked at his last 2 clubs, he managed to gain 1 point in 19 games. That a club can decide he is a capable manager 8 years after his last job, basically smacks of them giving up this season. I wonder if he's actually acting as a volunteer and it is therefore saving Reading the wage of a manager.

And Klopp.

Then again Guardiola was one of the great players of his era.

Villa have 5 points from their last 7 games. While Rangers go to Dortmund and score 4...

How long does Stevie G have?!

Yeah Pep is like the perfect storm. Great footballer and a deep thinker.

I’ve been told the story of how he ran the academy his way at Barca to great success. The board wanted him as manager and told them not to bother interviewing him unless he was given full authority to ditch the superstars like Ronaldinho, Eto and Deco and play his kids from the academy.

The rest is history. Those kids were something special……

Unless you can find a Pep I’d chose the next best thing - a young, hungry academy coach who interviews well and is clearly a thinker and a scholar.

Managers like Rodgers, Cooper and Potter have all performed well and when you see their methods and approaches you know that they are thinkers and not just fist shakers!

Ince after last night's game:-
"I know how to manage. I've done it before.
My CV is as good as any person's"

🤪

To be fair, he seems to be decent enough in the motivation/selection department, it's when he gets to player recruitment where he's really s***.

Problem is, we let him do that.
