Pennington

Lyons edged MOTM because of his goal and his cross that led to the 2nd. Penno was excellent, as were all of the back 3 in horrid conditions. Great to see Gabriel back in a league fixture and also to have Norburn available. I'll enjoy a cosy night in by the fire and a couple of beers.

Agree withthe o/p, Pennington had an excellent game today.

He adapted well to the conditions, read the game well, and intercepted several balls out to their left wing. He even had a few good attacking runs forward.

Overall I reckon that was one of our most assured defensive performances, and that applies to DM as well, where Kenny had another good game.

Best game today. Did his best to do a Marv tribute but recovered well.

Close to King of the Game, but Lyon’s deserves it visually more.

Absolutely his best game in Tangerine today. Must admit I wasn't seeing what he had to offer above average until today. Maybe the fact Carlisle were so bad helped? But yes he looked solid all round.

Was it him who gave the ball away a few times 2nd half under no pressure?

He's done well generally though.

Kenny was absolutely sublime today. By the time he came off he was tiring but no wonder, he was everywhere!

Yes that is why I get so defensive of Connolly. Not the best at any position, but when called upon I struggle to remember games he has let us down.

Connolly cost us a goal by not holding the line on Tuesday, but generally I agree, he's usually more than dependable wherever he's asked to play.

Don't think this guy has got the credit that he deserves. Real steady Eddie and for me the Man of the Match today (although Lyons was excellent).
I agree 100% and if you look back at my posts you will see I said the same a couple of weeks ago.
He's really grown into the season.
For a bonus all he needs to do is add a couple of goals to his game like he did for The Shrews.

Imperious. Ran the show completely and was in total control of midfield. If Moxon is worth £1m??
They seemed to improve when Moxon went off. Not fully convinced about him, maybe we were correct not to go above £500k

Both Pennington and Husband have been consistently good. If only we could find someone in the middle of them that can pass a football. Marvin and Callum can not.

He’s got the perfect blend of attributes for that wide CB role. I think we’ll see him get even braver on the ball as we go through the season. Looks like there’s more to come from him.
