Perspective

There is always one happy clappy poster - and here it is.

We were terrible today. The run we are on, and the lack of any creativity is extremely worrying. And fans are entitled to express their frustrations as they please to.

Read my post and yours. You've literally made the same points as me. That must make you happy chappy?

I agree with your post, though.

Let's keep some.

Poor performance today and a worrying goal drought. However, wr are still in a very promising position in the league. Add Simms and some extra creativity in the window and we can still finish top 10, if not higher.

Trust in Critchley to arrest the slide.
I genuinely didn't know that Simms is the only forward that Blackpool can go for in the transfer window 🤪

Critchley is mainly responsible for the slide. He needs to get a grip.

I'm sure Critch will accept that as the head coach, the book stops with him, and one thing's for sure, he won't be sleeping as easy tonight, as he did last week after winning the NW manager of the season.
As the best managers say - don't get too excited when we win and don't get too excited when we lose.
It's a wee bit premature for some to call for his head, especially after just being given a 4.5 year contract!

Easy to over react. The weather was awful. Played in almost storm force conditions. And we had zero physically strong layers. NC should have at least picked a few stronger types. Madine. Keogh. Moore. It was like watching the U17’s against the Luton man giants.
2nd game in a row that we have messed up the starting 11. Completely misread the situation.

Was the weather perfect for Luton?
I must have missed that!!
Sorry for now sounding Brian Clough esque...
Football is simple, you don't win by having more possession, more chances or fewer cards. You win by scoring more than the opposition. And if you don't do that, make sure they don't score more than you!! Pick your strongest 11 and stick with them other than through injury or suspensions.
Don't mess about at the back as a mistake could cost you.

We always struggle against the physical teams (giants) and we need to recruit some players akin to Southern, Adam, Brabin, Morris etc. Players who never duck a challenge and leave nothing on the pitch.
Critch, please speak with Ollie and take a wee bit of his coaching approach .... 'if you score 2, we'll score 3, if you score 3, we'll score 4'.

Perhaps Sadler got a bit over excited in giving him a long term contract. He should have waited.

We played well first half, given the conditions. Let’s remember their keeper made 2 fantastic stops, or we’d have been pretty comfortable.

Not a lot in it, poor keeping from Maxwell for the first and second goals has cost us.

Lots of over-reaction, including in the stands with people leaving with 25 mins to go - WTF!

I got carried away and thought we could challenge, but we all need to focus on what success would look like this season - we will achieve that, and kick on next season.

We get nowhere if we don’t stick together, to get through a poor run.

We were never going to challenge this season, and survival will be an achievement, then build and push on.
Fortunately, the current bottom three are currently adrift, but we at least need to beat them, starting with derby & that isn't a given.
Stick with Critch & the players and keep the faith.

It will take real investment if we are to push on. This is a bottom 6 squad of players.

Similar thoughts to myself. It’s been a dire 3/4 weeks now, can’t hide that.

None of us want to loose, but in the grand scheme of things we are, as a club in a fantastic position still.

I do firmly believe this will just be a temporary slump, probably won’t be the only one but we won’t go down this season which in reality is the only aim.

I’ve no doubt we’ll be far stronger on the last day of the season than we were on the opening day. We’ll be fine lads and lasses.

We as fans really do have to just take the rough with the smooth some times, truly fantastic away days and Wembley appearances are the pay off for trudging through shite weeks like these.

SS, BM, Critch and the players have given us a fantastic ride so far and really do bust their bollocks day in day out. They’ve earned the right for us to stick with them through the tough times.

A little bit galling to see a fair few fans jumping on the players and Critch’s back at the moment. As I say we need to stick with them through this time. They deserve it right now.

Then expect to be challenged on your comments.

Which past predictions of yours gives you confidence in these ones? If you can call them predications and not lowest common denominator sniping.
You never have anything to say regarding the football. A lack of knowledge perhaps? I don't mind being challenged but you're incapable of it.

Really, I've just challenged you. Pray tell what your amazing insight has been, in the past week your only actual posts about the players or tactics have been that Maxwell should come in for Grimshaw.

Why do you think you're going to be right this time? You're just venting and the last year proves that when you vent you're wrong, maybe you'll get lucky this time though.

So 'real investment' is needed? Who would you go for first? We're clearly going to need players other club's will want to sign in your opinion, should we offer them the wages West Brom could? Should we show the rest of the group that they're not worthy of being paid as much as the new superstars? Where should we cut corners to afford this as SS has already stated that he doesn't have the means to buy our way in his league, maybe he should get some outside investment, people who'll presumably want returns on that investment. How well has that gone for other clubs?

It's really really easy to criticise and say we need big investment, but you don't have to provide it do you? How about the owner sells to someone with more money? Maybe he's trying to get the club on a firm standing after the shit show of the previous regime, this time last year we were in the bottom half of League One with a crumbling infrastructure to repair, maybe, just ** maybe, the owner and the manager know what they're doing?

How about you judge the progress of the club over say, the past two years, instead of the past month?

The past is as irrelevant in football as it is in life. It's all about the present and the future. The current squad may survive this year but I doubt it will survive next season. Pool need an injection of quality in midfield and up front. That will need serious money. I'd save £500k by sending Dale back to Crewe in January. I will continue to have my say win, lose or draw. Whether you agree with it is of no concern to me.

It's a debate.

So who would you spend the 500k saved on Dale on? You realise that's peanuts in this league don't you? Where are we getting the money from for real Championship investment, as you put it?

If it isn't available through Sadler then perhaps he should be looking for a trusted, wealthy business associate to join him on the board. Would you sign Dale? Only Critchley knows who might be available come January and the summer.

I think for 500k he's worth a punt yes. Who would you go for?

So now, based on a few results, you want the owner to relinquish some control to a wealthy outside concern?

It may be necessary if we wish to mount a serious challenge for promotion. I wouldn't sign Dale, too lightweight, no pace, no real goal threat. I'd prefer and hope we're looking for a creative midfielder with an eye for goal.

I just hope for the lads mental state for the rest of his life, he makes a good go of being a professional footballer.

He certainly must have had something about him for SS to sanction his signing
SS wouldn't know, he would have been signed solely on Grayson's recommendation.

Presumably Grayson thought he was good enough to sign him.
Ultimately Grayson lost his job but he would have not wanted the lad to fail.

The truth is, nobody knows what's gone on.
I'd like all the players in the squad to do well, not just Nutall. Sadly some won't, that's just how it is...

Yes some have made the step up and some are struggling to do so. I would never question the players effort just, in some cases, their quality.

I thought Blackpool fans didn't do that? The South was almost empty by the time I left, or it seemed that way.

I can't see us getting anything out of December, roll on January.

I expect us to lose to Derby. Our problems will not be solved overnight.
Oh, Jesus. Are you really “Dad’s Army’s“ Frasier?
I’ve nothing against you personally, but is there a positive cell in you somewhere?
Would you go into our dressing room and tell the team that?

Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Where there’s hope…..blah, blah.
Yeah. Yesterday was a real kick in the knackers. A good couple of hours with happy juice has improved my outlook. Give it a try and we’ll love you for it!

64 years of watching Pool has taken its toll. I'll be fine by tomorrow, just hate losing.

Aah. Well, that’s not necessarily a problem.
Lesson 2: you don’t admit that.
Almost all Blackpool fans love beer but the young ones like lager (that goes in yellow and soon comes out the same colour.) When we ask who’s going to the away match, next week, you volunteer to drive if they pay for petrol.
They’ll never notice you’re TT, see. And you’ve got new mates.

The TT was a joke. I prefer beer / real ales but budvar is good too.

There's no easy games & December will be tough. Let's hope we pick up points, or we'll be dragged down, morale in the camp will suffer and the one or two gloomster's on here will be like Grinch!
UTMP
When was the last time we got anything out of December and yet went on to prove all the doomsayers wrong?
