The posh showed us the way to be a possession based team playing out from the back. Incisive, confident and breaking at pace. A fantastic 1st half display.

Fair play for our 2nd half character and giving it a go with 10 men but we looked miles off Peterborough in the 1st half and always felt that they could go up the gears and pick us off, which they did in the end.

As has been said by many, too much tinkering for me, just play your best players if they're fit.
 
Personally I thought it was pretty even first half. Referee changed the game and at half time I was confident that the introduction of Dembele in the second half would change it for us.

Tonight the board will be alive with those that love to post in defeat and go missing when we win.

Line up was a mistake for sure, but that is that and the team showed real courage in the second half.

Yes, and they actually showed us when a bit of money can be put in the right persons pocket.

I agree 1st 15 was a cagey affair but after that I felt they took control with the best display by a visiting team this year.

No doubting our character but I think if that's the way we want to play then we need to be aspire to be more like Peterborough on today's evidence, they out blackpooled us.
 
I think we lost the game in the 1st half, our failure to attack with intent was clear. Our midfield is set-up to get behind the ball and press
but we are unable to turn the ball over with any urgency and skill. The ball is then sent long as per usual. Dougall played well today, but
Carey for me just does'nt offer enough, Oakley Boothe has abilty but lacks game time. Not sure where we go from here or if Critchley knows
what he is doing ?.

Spot on Chunks, line up and selection was a huge mistake!

Good post.
 
In the first half, posh lost possession in and around the the penalty area, two or three times.
However we were unable to take advantage of the situation.
I feel that if the same happens to us, other teams are able to punish us for our errors.
That's where the problem is in my opinion.
Our attack are not clinical enough to punish defensive errors with any regularity.

It isn't too big an ask.
We all know we have the players to do it but for some reason, known only to Critchley and his backroom staff, he choses to play a cagey, tippy tippy, none threat type of game🤷
 
I thought our lack of pressing the ball made it easy for them to keep possession. I'd expect most teams to be able to one or two touch round us if under no pressure and they did just that.
We are passive and cautious to the extreme unfortunately both out and in possession. The tempo is just so slow. I just want to grab them and shake them to wake up.
2nd half is what I want to see, intent, aggression and purpose to attack.

Sorry but courageous defeats are worth jackshit.
First half they deserved their lead
Still hope they fail as their playacting with a stronger referee would have been punished. If Blackpool did the same I would stop going.
 
Best side I've seen this season by a mile, helped by our team selection mind. Would they have left any of their best players on the bench to fit in an Oakley-Booth ?
 
I thought we started off very brightly the first 10 minutes. However we do not move the ball quickly enough or with any meaningful penetration, possession with no attacking outcome.
I thought Peterborough moved the ball sharply from the back through midfield with ease, and looked dangerous when in the final third, especially in the first half.
The sending off helped us, and gave us the freedom to play a more attacking style of football, such a shame we just did not have enough to get us a draw I thought we deserved from our second half performance. I hope Critch can look at the second half attacking performance and get at teams quicker and with more intensity.
 
thought we looked better, when playing longer balls which goes against Critchleys ethos. It made their defenders face their own goal for a change and forced them into errors. But we were beaten by a far better team.

Best side? They were dominated by 10 men 2nd half and we nearly came back into in, but for an unnecessary pass to them from us for the 4th.

They were decent enough passing it at the back, but we played right into their hands with selection and tactics 1st half. A lot of their dangerous moments came from our mistakes.

Thompson went for a ball he was never going to get for the 1st, unnecessary foul for the pen, 2nd Casey was in control, just had to head it back to Grimmy or clear and he did neither and fouled. The 4th goal was a gift.

They were also made to look better by the selection and lack of pace and intent 1st half in our side for pressing.

A decent side but our own worst enemy today.

Derby scored good goals and hit us on the break, maybe the goals were not as easily gifted goals as some today.

Anyway, maybe I've still got my mind in the championship, but some of the better teams in the division haven't impressed me that much. With 10 men and the right attitude, we dominated them and nearly came back from 3 down.

Then again I bet some aren't that impressed with us at times. We haven't had a full 90 minutes yet have we....

We need to get our act together because with a bit more competent displays we should be nearer the top.

There's nothing to fear if we go for it and play with confidence and use our better players more...

Certainly not at gamesmanship, when we scored our second goal they were on the ropes and we shut their fans up.

A spirited performance and I felt proud of the players at the end we could have easily capitulated,
