I'm pleased BFC are keen and able to host a pilot event. Anything that enable progress towards a recognised normality must be welcomed.
I'm also very happy for the 1000 lucky fans that will be able to attend this historic event. (I don't think I'll be one of them because I subscribed too late to be in the first 1000).
However. I'm a little bit unsure about the real value of such test events.
How will the event be determined to be a success (or failure) and who will decide?
If it is considered to be a success, what happens next? (2000 fans into grounds? More grounds used as test sites?) It'll take a long time to achieve a 25% capacity at Old Trafford, at that rate!
If it's considered to be a failure, where do we go from there?
As with much of the "guidance" issued during the current pandemic, little thought seems have been given to the way forward. It appears to me to be more about implementing control processes!
Or maybe not!
