Planning Application for a Pub on Travelodge Carpark

I can foresee many objections to it being lodged. Even without seeing the design.😜

What would be an apt name for an Oyston owned pub?

The Wooly Mammoth?
As long as they sell Oyston stout they are onto a winner
The "Closed due to unforeseen breakages".....stolen glasses, graffiti, flooded toilets and customers walking out without paying......arms
The "Convicted Rapist"
The "Clifford Chance Arms"
The cash cow

Denaxe - formally known as Segesta and Blackpool Football Club (Properties) Limited.

What happened to the land/travelodge during the receivership?

He just can't keep his f##kin nose away from OUR beloved club. He has to be seen to be still relevant. Let's hope it gets a good going over by a few big away firms

I am sure that any clientele could be suitably discouraged. Seems a strange place for a pub. Hope the planners turn it down

Advisors: “Fine Mr Oyston but we still need a name for the parent company?”

OO: looks at a table with some dental floss on it and the emergency fire axe hanging on the wall - bingo!

Advisors: “I suppose it could have been worse, his son was in the room serving tea and biscuits 10 minutes ago, we could have ended up with a company called ‘That **!’”

This should be on the pub sign

The restaurant Brownpants opened on the corner of Queen Square and the Prom went well, forever having it’s windows put through. But al least the top of the range and expensive kitchen equipment from there should be available for the NAPM Arms, oh wait a minute didn’t it go missing in mysterious circumstances?🤣🤣🤣🤣

In all seriousness I doubt it will get planning anyway. Original consent was given back in 2005. Since then a hotel and restaurant and new stand with supporters bar (not operational but allowed) has been built a few hundred yards away. A school exists a few hundred yards away. There’s probably 100 or more existing empty pubs or restaurants in the Blackpool area at present. The council is looking to redevelop one of the country’s most deprived areas and building pubs on that land won’t help. It’s in direct competition with a number of businesses in the immediate area (one of which is the empty club/pub/casino) which is surely made less viable and more likely to remain an eyesore should planning be given for another venue nearby.

It doesn’t add any value to the area. It’s reduces the likelihood of redeveloping existing empty buildings. It’s likely to negatively impact an already deprived community and the planning it was based on is 16 years old and made at a much different time economically and socially for the town.

Absolutely no chance of this happening I reckon but everyone needs to make their objections known - ideally based on the above as opposed to him being a dirty rapist club killing count*
