Best thing that could've happened. Two big home games to come and a meaningless midweek game wouldn't have helped.
EFL is a distraction and pointlessNotice Brizzle play today and then have to go to Wycombe on Wednesday .. hopefully lots of tired legs!
Totally agree About time this competition was dumpedBest thing that could've happened. Two big home games to come and a meaningless midweek game wouldn't have helped.
Yes it has outlived it’s usefulness. Needs dumping from the calendar or revamping to give it fresh interest (incorporate with Scottish League Cup?)Totally agree About time this competition was dumped
Funny how they were 20th at start of play and 7th after a win - such a tight league already!Notice Brizzle play today and then have to go to Wycombe on Wednesday .. hopefully lots of tired legs!
I agree but SS would have appreciated the money for advancing.Best thing that could've happened. Two big home games to come and a meaningless midweek game wouldn't have helped.
Doesn't count as a banned game. Bookings don't go towards totals eitherDoubt we would be saying this had we gone on and drawn a big team on TV, never good to go out, even if if meant giving players like Bez, Apter and some of the youth a run out. It would also have counted as a banned game for Carey. A winning run is the best thing going for confidence etc
Sorry only saying what I read when I read on some official site that the Burnley players ban would include the cup game so presume it would have been the same for us had we still been in the cup, which is also how I remember it in the pastDoesn't count as a banned game. Bookings don't go towards totals either
Would be interesting to see how that different XI looked and if we could muster the numbers?Would rather have been in and put a different 11 out. Might still have got through with some kids and a few not used much players like Bez.

Plus, It's Lincoln we would have faced and no way would Appleton want to lose to them.
Brizzle have done it the right way. Got a squad together which means they can drop quite a few for the League Cup and progress to the latter stages - although ironically we'd have been facing them in the next round.Would be lovely to start a season with a fit and able 25 man squad so that this competition would be a help rather than a hinderance.
