We can’t really afford to worry about what goes on elsewhere, we know there are a certain amount of points we feel that if we hit, we will be okay

In the Premier League its generally accepted that to avoid relegation you need to hit 38 points (Dont say it, dont say it, dont say it)

What is the target for us to hit to avoid relegation?

How many points are required? We are on 26 points with 19 games left...

We need 9 wins from 19 games to have any chance. Appleton has been in charge of 41 BFC games over 2 spells and won 9 out of those 41 games, go figure.

Usually the target is around 50 pts.

Guess he’s not very good at maths, given we are averaging a point per game. Puts us on 45 pts and relegated.

On current form (last 10 matches) it’s even worse: rock bottom on circa 34 pts.

52 Points is the minimum, we should be aiming for. So, 26 more required. I can't see us picking up enough wins to make that happen. 6 wins, 8 draws and only 5 losses from our remaining 19 games!!!!!

The target is to get one more point than the club that ends up 3rd bottom.

We actually hit the target to sustain premier league survival in 95% of seasons played , unfortunately it wasn't the target for the season we were there, so fictional targets aren't worth bothering with.

Our home form is terrible, our away form not much better, just can't see us getting 8 wins to give us a chance. Also, I think 45 points is too low a target but hope that I am wrong.

The next 3 home games are crucial to keep us in with a shout but I am not too optimistic - Huddersfield have a mixed record at Bloomfield Road but Stoke haven't lost at league match at Bloomfield Road since 1964 and we haven't beaten Rotherham at all since 1997.

Need to put this right and no time like the present.

We haven't played them that often.

I remember us winning at Valley Parade and the BBC saying it was the first time we'd won there since 1935 or some such. Turned out we'd played them twice.

Very few teams in the bottom 8 averaging more than 1 point per game and so I'd say that is our first target (which we'd achieve with a win on Saturday) and then I would say 48/49 will be enough this season.
