Policing after the game

We came out of the South, and the police segregated the two sets of fans directly outside. We were directed around the police vehicles, but it was hazardous because of the bottleneck between the vehicles and the garden walls of the properties around Bloomfield Road / St Heliers Rd. Ten yards later I literally bumped into a lady wearing a QPR scarf. It was all a bit odd.

When a few fans asked the officers about it, one smiled and said "thanks for coming".

It was chaos little kids being crushed elderly being crushed are the Police waiting for another Hillsborough before they go to plan B?

The match commander should be sacked never seen such pathetic Policing. 🤬
Totally agree
Think the police commander must be PNE

One police officer said it was due to "an earlier incident" that "we didn't need to know about" 🤨

Need to get some proper video evidence of what they are doing. A bit difficult cos it would need to be from above with a drone and then whoever was doing it would probably get nicked for violating Manchester Airport air space.

Clueless clowns 🤡 👮
This 👍

Exactly what's needed, get it on video and get it to the Gazette (or someone useful). They're incompetent arrogant dickheads.

Totally inept again just like the ref and linesman tonight. There were 28,000 at Sheffield last week and everything was controlled perfectly. The police should go over there and see how they do it. Waste of time and only a matter of time before somebody gets really hurt.

What was that all about after the match? Penning home fans in on Bloomfield Road. Clueless again.
We went out the north and I thought well I'll try the north gate as its quicker, nope blocked off.

Walked all the way round the stadium and I was saying they better not block this way again....

Soon as I saw the blockade I lost it and shouted at 2 coppers that this is absolute crap this. It's absolutely pathetic, they don't have a clue what they're doing.

Against 'human rights' to keep fans in a stadium but not against rights to keep us in the street.

So thats the match officials and the police who 'don't know what they're doing.'

Just what is the point in locking the gates behind the north stand only for the incompetent Police to block off Bloomfield road?

Be interesting to hear the words of our SLO because 17 games into the season it’s still a ** shambles why?

Nothing new then tonight! Police are a joke! Every home match they still feck up
I reckon they have a sweepstake with road names in a hat.

Police officer "OK sarge, you pick which way we'll send them this week"

Picks piece of paper and opens it.

Match commander Doofy "Hahaha, looks like they're going round the houses again."

Police officer "We locking the north gate again sarge? Why do we do that, surely opening it would allow those on that side to disperse way before the away fans?"

Doofy "Now then Watkins, don't get ideas above your station or you'll be forced to police pne and Fleetwood games again"

Police officer "Sorry sarge, right you are"

It comes to something when SYP are models... But yes.

Thats why I lost it, they send us all the way round the stadium only to keep us there, it's different every week.

They send away fans into pool fans in a random side street.

They are useless.

Totally agree with the above comments. Never seen anything like this in over 50 years following the Pool. Let’s try and remember though, it isn’t the fault of the Officers who we see and walk past blocking the road etc, they are simply following orders from the Match Commander and others who make these decisions. I’m sure a number of the Officers who are told to implement this plan are not happy with it !!

I agree about videoing the ineptitude. Get it out there on the www for all to see. Otherwise they will just continue. They’ve proved already they won’t listen to sense or our obvious concerns.

Not to mention also about all the foot traffic that has to walk along Seasiders way to Rigby Rd which has no lighting on at all and with impatient day trippers driving like idiots. All this to try to bet to the grasmere road area which would be so much easier and safer if they opened the North East gate like it always used to be and dispersed quickly.

It’s getting beyond surreal. The funnelling idea will do nothing other than cause trouble. what happened to COVID?

whoever is drafting these plans needs reeling in. It’s a disaster waiting to happen. Utter incompetence that as others have said, is not happening elsewhere. I echo too that the fact SYP and football is being mentioned in the same sentence is bizarre, but they are streets ahead.

Lancs Police are operating as though a mysterious stadium has landed with football matches taking place. It’s a 13k crowd for ffs!

Listen, if one fan had of burst through that pathetic dog barrier tonight the whole place would have gone up, shit police, the only worrying thing is these people are supposed to protect your family?,
Not kill your family?

Possibly they're intentionally slowing people down by funnelling people in order to get around the "false imprisonment" human-right nonsense?

But doesn't that impede on my rights to not get crushed by 10k+ people?

To be fair, a mysterious and unique club and fanbase have landed in the championship and are showing how we back our team.

Ok ...I was seriously miffed about how they got a point they didn’t deserve but how pathetic was the policing coming out of the South.
Police with their dogs barking and waiting exactly for what, funnelled across the road to a narrow pavement area with fans converging from the whole of the stand and probably the west too, where it might have only taken someone to fall and god knows what next..and two parked cars making matters even worse.
....and after all that when you did get further down the road and not very far ,hey presto you were side by side with..guess what( no prize I’m afraid)..their fans.
The worst thing is every home game the plan is different which suggests those responsible are incompetent....those police on the ground actually having to follow those orders seemed as pissed of as us fans from the responses I got.

What next, next home game at full time fans emerge only to find the police have set up a hall of mirrors maze......" You think you're causing trouble with the away fans just there, think again" as you whack your head off the glass you didn't see.

"Good luck getting home before 9 o'clock lads."

I honestly have no understanding of what's being discussed. At the the end of the game I walk for a tram and rarely see a single away fan and I'm home within half an hour. I do reside in the West though 😁

I believe that the problem with the north gate is to stop Blackpool fans running out of the north stand and then up back Henry street to attack visiting fans or run on to central drive to attack the coaches.
The action of a few mindless yobs means the majority suffer
