Sack Critchley now

Let's send a message to Simon Sadler.

If Critchley stays we are going to be in a relegation battle next season with a deflated set of supporters from the first game of the season.

Charlie, Richie, someone we have never mentioned but someone who will bleed tangerine and get the supporters excited and right behind them.

He won’t get sacked. I think he should go because his stubbornness and decision making has left us short this season.

And the most worrying thing for me is we will be losing goals and quality from this squad and he sees Virtue and Hamilton as an answer. It’s ** incredible. He can’t be trusted.
He definitely won't be sacked, Sadler loves him. I just think Sadler and Critchley should know what the supporters think.

We’re close but not good enough. Surely though we’re close enough for Critchley to get another season.

Sacking him would be madness. We don’t need to make an overhaul a complete rebuild this summer.

The objective for next season is clear though. Promotion.

Chasing the playoffs won’t be good enough. We’ve got to be chasing automatic and if that’s not looking likely 10 games in - that IS the time to change things.

Surely promotion was the objective for this season?

As it stands we are nowhere near capable of automatic in what will probably be a much tougher next season.

We've rarely lost a game when we've looked the better team.
We've rarely won a game when we've looked the better team.

Sadler ... go figure.

Passion needs to be taken out of this.

Simon really needs to look at what has happened, his investment and the promotion level playing budget this season. Critchley has blown it, when it’s obvious to anyone with football knowledge that we should easily be top 6. Even with our shocking away record, we’ve missed out on the final day.

The second consideration is, will Critchley deliver next season. Seriously, you’d need to be the ultimate optimist, because next season the league will be much more competitive. I seriously think that under Critchley we couid be lower mid-table.

For failing this year and the challenge next season, which he’s not up to, I’d be sacking him this weekend.

The last run of games just about got people back on track.

We weren't great in many but then performed great for 60 minutes against Barnsley, you think we've turned a corner and talk of realising what is needed from Husband. Given that turn around it seemed mad to sack him, we're close and with a few better players next season if not this...

Then we go ahead today and it actually would have got us in the playoffs, but it was Reading who looked like the playoff side after the first 10 minutes and particularly 2nd half.

The same old issues we've seen time after time came back and it just wasn't good enough.

I really wouldn't be against a change however is it all on NC or are the players just not very good away when they're not in the comforts of home.

Even with a good manager or a setup people approve of, who is scoring the goals we need?

Right now I'm undecided, ambivalent, maybe leaning towards a fresh start. Maybe the playoffs were the minimum goal and therefore he's failed, so would go, but I doubt it. I would like to see a new positive manager and a ST campaign to get all on board and go for it next season, but if he stays but he's not the manager he was or Sadler seems to think he is IMO.

Yes if we get someone better. Supporters will want him out, he lost them when he went to Villa for a huge pay rise. Even though we would all do the same the trust evaporated especially as we appointed duffers to replace him.

It just proves that Sadler can't pick a manager if his life depended on it.

Ive voted yes

At the start of the season, I felt (rightly or wrongly) that anything below 6th would be a failure on Critch's part. But to lose a must win game (which obviously would have put us 6th) with a whimper like that is beyond frustrating and disappointing.

All season, he's seemingly been unable (or unwilling?) to change shape when we're struggling, especially away.

I'm so deflated after that season, such a huge opportunity missed

Why we're a bang average side with other clubs having far better players.
Four poor forwards only Rhodes is class and we've been knackered without him.
Over reliant on Dembelle.
Byers our only decent midfielder.
A centre half who is playing in a 3 but is woeful on the ball.
Two right backs one who can't play as an out and out wide man the other CJ.
Etc.

Finished 8th with the 8th best squad in the league.
Rebuild needed if we've any hope of being in the top 6 next season whoever is in charge.

If over the season we'd played entertaining, consistent football, I'd accept that we were just unlucky - but we haven't & today was a good example.
NC is a well qualified & respected coach, but he's not a manager and his selection of the 2 hapless coaches alongside him highlights another flaw.
No one can say next season will be better, as we'll lose the loanees and probably some of our best players. So how much will SS spend? Will we attract the best players to get us promoted? Will NC change his approach on signings, team selection, formation, tactics & use of substitutions etc?
I would prefer a new start under a new manager - but I doubt NC will leave or that SS will replace him.

That's the only doubt in my mind, are the players good enough, not many goals in the side.

I don't think Critchley has been amazing and has he got the most out of us, ultimately getting us to play well and with confidence rests on his shoulders. The home form suggests we can do it though.

I wouldn't miss him if he went but the players have to take some responsibility.

Why would nobbers be wanting Critchley to get sacked ?
They must be pi$$ing themselves at how inept our manager is. If anything they are the ones wanting him to stay at BR

You can have as many polls as you want but I'll ask the posters who want Critchley as manager next season this.

Do you genuinely believe that Blackpool will at least make the play offs playing as they do in this rigid format?

Wigan and Reading won't have a points deduction hanging over their heads, 3 of the 4 teams in this seasons play offs will still be in this division. Charlton and Lincoln should have decent seasons.
Stockport and Wrexscum will be there, then you've Rotherham and perm any two from Birmingham, Huddersfield, Plymouth, T'rovers and The Massive.

Go, as long as someone better is lined up and we don't spend another summer pissing about with dossiers.

He's failed and we need to send a message but I'm very doubtful that we'd appoint anyone better.
I think we can appoint someone better, it's just that we won't appoint anyone because Critchley is safe as houses. Oh, and Sadler could easily appoint someone worse with his track record!!
