Poveda

He must be getting cheesed of with being left on the bench after making several very good performances. I doubt he would have come to us if he knew we would be playing hoof ball.
I noticed that after Rodgers came on he never came out to warm up again. Mccarthy is going to have a very unhappy lad on his hands. In my opinion rightly so. He should have started last night instead of Madine and we should have been playing football, not hoof ball.

Said pretty much the same but on another thread.
Appleton for some reason didn’t want to play are better players and when he did they were played out of position.
Unfortunately McCarthy has continued with that theme Rodgers Poveda Bowler Lyons should all be starting games FFS go with your strongest starting 11.
How many times have we said it looks a strong bench than the starting 11? 🤷‍♂️

every time we put the ball on the ground and actually played we looked as though we could tear Huddersfield a new one. Probably should have scored from a couple of CJ crosses in the first half. Against a team like Huddersfield who are about as agricultural a team ive seen (apart from us in the last few weeks) Poveda would have had a field day.

I'm not sure we kept the ball for more than 3 seconds at any point before Lyons and Bowler started linking up. Probably instructed to play direct but you can't with 10 men and no target man.

I was under the impression McCarthy might have been resting a few of our creative players at Middlesboro, fresh for the Huddersfield game.
How wrong was I ?!

Poveda had just found his feet and had won the last two 2 MOTM awards, (and rightly so), before Mccarthy arrived.

If Appleton had chosen that team, to play a very beatable Huddersfield, there would have been anarchy in the stands.

Let's hope he's big enough to learn from his mistakes, and gets it right on saturday, otherwise the fan unrest will begin again.

Perhaps the issues MA had with Poveda have not gone away. Potentially a brilliant player, but will his head let him fulfill that potential? Way too many clubs in too short a period. They can not all be wrong.

I think he’s a stubborn man and won’t change. He can’t be seen to have been wrong.
Mick's demeanour has changed already. His first interview exuded so much calm and confidence but now he sounds unsure and unconvincing in his responses. You can't put 5 of your best players on the bench, for a 6 point relegation battle, Mick.

Certainly got me wondering.
Because he is a hell of a player.
