Preston one of the Top 25 places in the UK to live

Isn't sheff utd the oldest , could be wrong
Sheffield FC.

Anyway, now Notts County are back in the League, they are the oldest League team in the world.

Preston is in the nicest places to live in the UK...they forgot to mention that's short for Under Kirkham.

Preston is also in the top 10 for the most depressing cities, top 5 for awful architecture, is on the list for highest crime rate and highest use of antidepressants in the Uk.

UCLAN is in the bottom 5 for universities in the UK and the highlight of the whole place is a bus station.

It’s In my top one of shitholes that could be hit by a nuclear weapon and it would generally make improvements.

It’s (almost) the birthplace of the guy who invented Mormons….and the council put up a statue for Nick Park, who hasn’t lived in Preston for over 60 years and chose Bristol rather than go back to his home town to live and work.

The only good thing about Preston is the M55 & M6 by passing it….

I would love to have the list of the other places on that list…I bet Luton, Hull and Birmingham are also on there….!!!!

Jesus christ, I had to go to Blackpool yesterday and I had almost forgotten how many shit holes are dotted around the town, the highlight was as I was heading back to the M55 I saw two smack heads on a mobility scooter trying to rob a beauticians, also I used to think you could smell the sea air, all I could smell yesterday was cannabis.

Of course you did 🙄

I went today and it was absolutely glorious in the Town Centre and on the front. St John's Square is great, people eating from the many establishments, the fountains going in this weather is great.

All I could see was thousands of people having a great time. We all know it has its bad issues, but let's not pretend Preston doesn't.

Far less tramps on display in the town centre then I see in Preston centre, you know it and many people from there admit it it's really bad, it's littered with them in Preston all down the main routes.

Down Blackpool Road as well outside the subway area some absolute dossers come out of that tesco looking like they they're trying to win some sort of gurning contest.

So wind it in you whopper.

Have half a million people gone to Preston for the day today, or have they continued on past to the UK's premier resort?

Premier. A word you'll never associate with Preston in any way, including football.

If someone on PneisOnline could explain the meaning of Banter to Norfolk.....Please!!

I'm not sure if he's got Alzheimer's but I always think he's wandered on here by mistake and just makes random comments that make no sense...
Then again, having Alzheimer's must be great when you follow PNE......You can keep forgetting how shit they really are

Wind it in? Open your eyes to one of the most deprived towns in the UK but I guess as your a judgment is clouded you won't see it #lasherfacts

So where does all the money go from your amazing tourism, its a shit hole, locals don't go near the front unless they work there.

Is everyhthing ok at home Bill? You look a little bit off in your picture. 🤡

I've said and we all know it's deprived in the central area, but it's nowhere near as bad as nobbers make out on the whole. Like a bunch of weirdos with your #lasherfacts when your lot make up stuff all the time. I know loads from Preston who love Blackpool for what it is, seems it's mainly a gathering of the most bitter people on PNE Online.

A lot of the idiots are imported, not even from Blackpool, not that it helps the town. But being a resort and the most popular resort in the uk, it'll always attract some nutters. All most people visiting see is the central area, try having millions of people going through some of your many council estates for eg.

Everywhere has good and bad areas.

Blackpool IS the most popular holiday destination in the UK and that clearly upsets you lot. 19 million visitors a year.

Nevermind lasher facts its more like #nobendbullshit on there.

On the boycott...

"They only stopped going because they went down".

FALSE

As was proven when we came back in the same league we were apparently avoiding and will be proven soon, when we don't drop anywhere near the pitiful home crowds we saw in those years.

Go on, enlighten us...What did you have to go there for? Have you ever lived there? Ever been anywhere outside the central area?

Ever been to Stanley Park voted the best Park in the UK multiple times now?

I'm all for calling out the issues but it's all a one way street with a lot of you and you have a completely warped view and lack of balance.

There's also tons of improvements happening in the town and it's on the up.

Fuck me you're a boring ** and you should recognise the profile pic as it's one of your own.

The truth is both Preston And Blackpool have their fair share of problems . The smell of cannabis is everywhere these days, cocaine use is out of control , plenty of homelessness in both , both have a mix of good and low quality housing . Plenty of crime going on in both .
On the upside UCLAN has been a catalyst for redevelopment and investment in Preston , Blackpool have had millions spent on the sea front , Talbot Gateway and soon Revoe . Both have lots to do but I do wish we had a UCLAN .

What….your wife is from Blackpool?

I know that most of the women born in Preston do try to escape the place so they don’t have to have 8 or more kids with their brother.

Obviously you popped over to the Gold Coast to find yourself someone who would have 2 eyes, hair and at least 3 teeth…..

I bet you’re a big deal at Deepdale when you take her to home matches….the only PNE fan to have actually had sex with someone who wasn’t related to a close family member…..

Do you have any kids?
I bet you’re praying that they look like her and not you!!!!

The 'Multiversity' is coming to the town centre, obviously not on that level but a very welcome addition, adding more footfall to help create a thriving town centre and the obvious local educational benefits. It's part of yet more regeneration. I'd imagine more will appear round it once done.

Nothing has changed
I personally don't dislike Preston on the whole as a place, some parts are nice, some not so. It's this complete bias from some nobbers and tbf I see it going the other way too from some of us.

Anyone can pull articles about anywhere based on the latest randomly selected facts. I can find some from not to long ago saying Preston is shit, miserable etc.

I've said before places like Preston benefit from having a bigger boundary that include the more affluent countryside areas above it. Blackpools boundary is very small, if it was similar sized and included Staining, other fylde villiages etc it would lessen the times it comes near the top of lists just from including those areas.

Having 19 million visitors a year increases certain metrics, like some petty crimes, road accidents etc. You'd expect this and at times in the summer the population can effectively triple.

It's always going to get increased numbers being a resort. Also it's worst area is also the one most people see, so it's no surprise some form negative opinions when they stray off down central drive for eg, that redevelopment can't come quick enough, but is on the way.

Does that explain away all issues, of course not, but as said there's a largely imported issue and some natural issues thay affect a lot of seaside towns. Not a lot you can do as a popular resort, people will always be drawn in. Although much is being done to improve many aspects of the town.

However, as anyone who lives or has lived in Blackpool knows, people often laugh at the figures and latest negative lists that pop up, as it doesn't reflect what it feels like often to live in Blackpool. There's a hell of a lot going for it and is unique, beautiful coastline, tons to do. A lot of towns or cities have the same issues Blackpool does, albeit on a slightly smaller scale, but hardly any of the benefits. I wouldn't live in parts of the central area, but absolutely nothing wrong with many areas outside of it, like anywhere, it has good and bad.

I'd better be careful with these longer posts as I don't want to bore Bill or 222Mark, that oddball from pne online.
