Proud of them all

Wow! What a game that was, talk about edge of your seat. Of course the referee ruined the game with a sending off that wasn't even a foul and continued with the worst performance of a referee I can reamaber.

That's got that out of the way, let's talk about the game. That was an heroic performance masterminded by Critchley's tactics and spurred on by tremendous noise from the crowd. Every single player gave absolutely everything out there today, it's hard to single one out because that was a complete team effort, sweating blood and running themselves into the ground. Magnificent. Grimmy made several great saves, the back 3 threw themselves at everything and Marv is back to his best.

Byers and Norburn are gelling in midfield and Dembele had to adapt his game completely after the sending off and did it remarkably well. Coulson is really improving every game and Gabriel was outstanding but looked dead on his feet at the end. What can I ay about Bees? He ran for everything, got in their faces and had a great game.

The red card has to be overturned on Monday so Rhodes is back for Tuesday night. I just hope the players have got the energy in their legs to give Northampton a game.

For a team well ahead at the top of the table, Portsmouth were made to look ordinary, particularly when we had all 11 players. I think we would have won that comfortably but for the referee's calamitous decision.

I actually had this down as a Pool loss in my predictions for the last 10 games so we are a point up on that and I have us for no points on Tuesday to, so anything is a bonus.

But at the end of this afternoon you have to say really well done to all the players, the manager and the supporters, proud to be a Pool supporter.

Nicely put . Lot's of passion. We are all proud 🙂.

Great O/P and decent performance.

I was never going to take a point before the game, we needed a win, but, fair play to Pool, circumstances seemed like they were against us today.

Well said. We dug in, and a point against top of the table with ten men for over half the game is excellent.
Critchley definitely got it right after the sending off. He left it a while to make any subs because tbh they weren't really laying a glove on us. But bringing Joseph on for Beesley was the right choice, and I thought he gave us a chance to sneak a winner by leaving Dembele on when it must have been tempting to swap him for Virtue in the circumstances.
Still in with a chance and our most difficult remaining home game is done.

I think Norburn knew the ref wouldn't send another off, so had a few free hits. Yellow card was the worst he'd get. His tackle on Lang was verging on a red in other circumstances, but so was the similar challenge on Beesley.
