Putin reaches a new low.

Reports that his troops have used a chemical substance in Mariupol, if true it shows the world just how low this man and his generals can go. Not content with bombing places into shells, using cluster bombs on civilian targets, laying land mines at Chernobyl, raping and pillaging on a large scale, killing non-combatants in their thousands he now obviously feels that no one will react to further atrocities as he has nuclear weapons, and would no doubt use them. My theory is that he is dying and is determined to take as much of the world with him as possible so that his name is written into history. I just hope and prey there is someone who can prevent him from going further.

None of this a new concept it happened in Chechnya and Syria so he has been either ill for a very long time, your theory is wrong or no one was particularly bothered about the first two*

*checking notes why that might be....

And let's not forget Russia shooting down a civilian airline in 2014 (pretty bad yes?) and the Salisbury incident in 2018 (pretty bad yes?)
Subsequently the Tories have taken big donations from Oligarchs, made Lebedev a lord in 2020 despite security force objections. The tories have had an unhealthy relationship with Russia let's not sweep that away, appalling levels of judgement that the electorate seem oblivious to.

He basically knows he can do what he wants (apart from invading a NATO country) and still get away with it.
Think they’ll be more to come yet but just can’t see any retaliation from the weak west, I mean apart from troops on the ground introduce a no fly zone what else can we do that’s not going to escalate an all out war?

What amazes me is that Russia has the neck to warn Sweden and Finland not to join NATO! Like a very sick joke. They've got the threat of nuclear weapons in their back pocket and its their only card. Admittedly, its a big card. But they can only push so far before we have to call their bluff and say enough is enough. For me, we need to back Ukraine with as much hardware as possible and hope they can push the Russians back. If they step on NATO territory, I think we've got to react.

Can't believe people keep falling for these obvious hoaxes.
So your saying that poor women on the TV yesterday wasn’t raped?

Whilst I agree it’s her word but how do you know it wasn’t true?

So who’s killed all those civilians and burned the bodies in towns and villages being liberated? A hoax again?

So Who’s flattening Mauriapol right now or is that all a hoax?

Maybe Russia hasn’t invaded Ukraine and it’s all a big fat hoax showing us all the pictures? 🙄

I was struggling to see how anyone could manage to attribute blame for Putin's increasingly horrific atrocities to the Tories, but there you go.

The problem with supplying Ukraine with as much as they need we may be in danger of depleting our own defences as we did in WW2. Is the rest of the West dong enough?

Taking in literally millions of refugees probably excuses them to some extent.

Where am I blaming the Tories? I'm blaming the electorate who are flying Ukrainian flags up and down the land and then vote for a political party who has taken vast sums of money from Putins mob and had a nice cosy relationship with.

I don't see how it does, wouldn't those people prefer to live in their own lands? Talking of refugees, I read last night Wolverhampton Council are planning on converting the Royal Hospital into accommodation for Ukrainian refugees, brilliant I thought, something positive from our town (I refuse to call it a city). Then it dawned on me, The Royal has been closed since 1997, why did it not cross their minds to do that for our own homeless years ago?

Fair comment.

So it's UK voters who are to blame for Putin's genocide in Ukraine?
If you care to read my original posts I didn't blame either the tories or the electorate for Russia invading ukraine, you were so desperate to deflect the tories unhealthy relationship with Russia you missed the point completely. What does anger me is the backdrop to this, certain members of the tory party should be charged with treason.

Absolutely correct. There is something beyond hypocracy with a bunch of senior Tories living financially hand in glove with Putin and his oligarchs then crying when Russian foreign policy turns out to be a disgrace and a series of war crimes.
Nothing to do with Tory voters and what they believe is right in terms of domestic policy. But Corbyn had to take so much crap about being a Russian sympathiser when in fact senior Tories have been living the treachery without any regret.

The OP is a comment on the Russians using chemical weapons and how low Putin has sunk. Your contributions are about the UK government having an unhealthy relationship with Russia and then blaming people for voting Tory. If the thread was about Blackpool's midfield, you would still find a way to whine about the government. Your obsession is unnatural.

Strange how no one really bothered about putin before ukraine. In my immediate response to the OP I made it clear all the warning signs were there, but it didn't stop our govt being infiltrated by Russian money and interference and like the thread about the party fines some people will bizarrely defend this govt to the hilt.

Tommy…….His obsession with the Tories and anyone who dares to vote for them is something he clearly lives for…….the strange thing is he barely if ever actually posts on anything to do with the football club ,rather like our least favourite teacher…I do sometimes wonder if they are one of the same person and whether he actually ever sees us play.
