Reminded me of that game last season when we beat Swansea 3-0 and I think had about 10 touches of the ball all game. They just pointlessly passed it around their defenders and then gave up

When they made changes late on, they had a decent passing spell, but every time they approached, Nelson and Thorniley blocked or twatted it away. Husband was his usual reliable self, and even CJ got involved defending at one point in the last ten mins.

62 per cent possession means nothing if you don't score.

QPR with all their possession only had 2 shots on target and they scored with one of them. Maxwell had one of his easiest games in goal since McCarthy came in. Attack can often be the best form of defence and I was delighted McCarthy stuck to the plan and didn’t revert to type when we went 1-0 ahead. The last 20 minutes was about game management and we did give QPR lots of possession and kept a clean sheet in the 2nd half.

The QPR team that started last night was exactly the same team that kept a clean sheet and beat Watford 1-0 last Saturday. The same subs were used by QPR in both games.

I checked the other day and I don't think we have had more than 50% possession in any league game all season. Fairly remarkable and shows how weak we are with the ball at this level.
