I was 6 when my dad took me to Blackpool v Sheff Utd in division one (April 67, 1-0 to Utd). We stood in the West paddock (South end) and I was cold. I only cheered up when I was bought a Bovril and a KitKat. We left early. After that my dad left it until August of the new season: a 4-1 defeat to Millwall. However, by then I got it and never looked back.I took my 6 and 8 year old to the Sheffield Utd. The youngest was bored and wanted to home after 30 minutes, he ended up playing games on my phone for the rest of the match, ironically the one that kept his attention the longest was a football game
On Molyneux. That's nobber speak!MY DAD NEVER LIKED FOOTBALL BUT EVEN AT THAT AGE HE KNEW I DID ,(HE WORKED WITH A WOMAN WHO WAS A MASSIVE WOLVES FAN )SHE TOOK ME TO SEE WOLVES V WEST HAM ON A NIGHT MATCH 50000 ON MOLYNIEX THAT NIGHT ,REMEMBER WOLVES WON 5-0 NEVER PHASED ME AND I WAS HOOKED ON FOOTBALL .
I GENUINELY THINK IT WAS THE MAGIC OF A NIGHT MATCH THE LIGHTS THE ATMOSPHERE THE RESULT ALL MADE IT SPECIAL.On Molyneux. That's nobber speak!
More importantly my first 50,000 crowd meanwhile must have been one of our finals, at which point I was an adult. 50,000 as a child, at night must have been a hell of an experience.
That would be me … took my eldest son to his first match at 6 months old… that was 31 yeas ago and he’s been coming ever since…I've seen people with babies at the match which is ridiculous. I'd say 4-5 is just about right.
I'm disturbed by all these suggestions to take a big bag of sweets. Surely that will pep him up too much. Maybe something a bit less likely to affect him, like a pint of Fosters. That would be me … took my eldest son to his first match at 6 months old… that was 31 yeas ago and he’s been coming ever since…
