Quick summary of the game

Worked hard for that, deserved the win in the end.
Probably the most unsavoury and fickle fans I've ever seen. They need to learn to get behind their team like we do.

1st half brilliant

Second half crap but solid.

Should be 4 wins in a row but can't complain too much, looking much better.

Still areas to improve like the way we started 2nd half vs Hull and 2nd half vs Crapburn.

But a great win nevertheless.

if anyone had said 4 games ago that you would have had 3 wins and a draw you would have snapped their arm off

‘Crap but solid’. A team of free transfers against a team that cost millions. ‘Heroic and increasingly solid’ would be a better description in my opinion.

Second half we weren't anywhere near as good as first half.

The injuries don't help but its an area to improve similar happened at Hull.

Whilst it wasn't that great on the ball and creating as many opportunities we were still defending well and kept them out.

I give this sort of thing some thought.

I go back a lot to a quote i once read in a good book about Ashes history. Back in the late 1800s England were heading Down Under and the captain of the time (forget which, might have been McLaren) took a look at the squad he'd been given, as it was picked purely by committee back then, and it was missing several of the best players. Apparently he said, do they think we're playing the blind school?

Point being you have to give credit and respect to who you're playing. We weren't playing Poulton Youth today, Rovers are a good team and will finish in the top half minimum.

Bar a 10 minute spell after our first, they were awful first half. That's because we were brilliant and they were a distant second everywhere. I was just praying to get in 2-0, anything else and we had a problem.

But after that, you have to accept they're going to go up several gears, they had to. And we weren't without chances second half, but generally it was just a time to hang on and fight for everything. And that's what we did. Heroic performance.

It happens a lot, but this year it's going to be even more because we're playing higher quality teams. And while we'd all like us to see games out comfortably, keeping calm and possession, the reality is unless we catch them on a bad day, virtually every team in this division has enough in them to create mayhem when chasing a game.

All you can do is defend for your life, and that's what we did.

To be fair, Keogh not coming out, Blackburn having had a rocket, them scoring and then Maxwell injury completely shook us. Then we had tired bodies and couldn’t make a sub, Mitchell needed to come on for a tired Madine or Yates. Plus Blackburn subbed the young lad in defence who had a howler when we were getting all our joy down their right.

Yeah no denying rovers upped it but we allowed them to by giving the ball away a bit cheaply.

As said the player losses didn't help and foe wg Husband hasn't played much recently.

We could change things up.

We did OK but needed a spell of a bit more possession second half just to see out their improvement, sadly we didn't get it and the scored.

But it didn't matter in the end.

Yeah there was some of the quick incisive passing and awareness I've been craving, which is why it was annoying to not get near those levels second half really.
It's a work in progress. Shows what we are capable of, though. Hard to keep it going the whole game esp with injuries and an improved Blackburn, but think we did lose our composure a bit.

We scored 2 with our half, they got 1 in theirs. Ergo we deserved to win.

Game after game we're defending like heroes, right through the team from the front, but particularly in the penalty area.

In the first half we were excellent. That spell we had where they were chasing shadows was just a joy to watch.
We seem to be blocking numerous attempts in defence. Showed some brilliance in the first half (like Brazil of old for a while) 😀 😀 😀

I don't remember another game where we've lost our three most important players after an hour, absolute heroics and the support was out of this world.

Them lot up the road won't know what's hit them, BR is a cauldron with a staff and players who absolutely love being here.

Magical days these.
