Radio Commentary

Are Blackpool games no longer being broadcast on the radio? I haven't been able to find commentary lately. Seems to be just other Lancashire teams.

Radio Lancashire use their different frequencies. 2 on fm. DAB and freeview. Finding I am listening to less football on the radio, Overall. I used to rely on it for a number of games.

Oh right, thanks. I just thought it weird that when we were in Division 1 it was easy to find commentary, yet when we get promoted it's more difficult. Might have to buy a DAB radio.

Don't know why we can't just listen on a mobile on the internet. Would be far easier.

You can but only 1 game.

The way they split it is 95.5 FM for East Lancs vermin, 103.9 for nobheads and us, and 104.5 for Morecambe and us, depending. DAB tends to be East Lancs despite them not being able to afford a DAB radio.

I thought it was because they were still trying to get their heads around FM and to place the burden of DAB on them while they are mourning MW is very cruel.

Thanks. So 103.9 or 104.5 on the radio, but not 103.9 or 104.5 on DAB. A better normal radio might be preferable, then. Our existing ones are very old & crackly.

If you listen any way you can at around 5 mins before KO they expalin how all the games can be listened to.

A DAB radio has a switch for FM and 103.9 etc. DAB has one show- Radio Lancs, there is no choice of listening beyond that- you have to flip to FM. DAB is far superior to a normal radio in sound and range of channels available.

You can buy a half decent one for £60-£100 that is portable. I have rechargeable battery ones for the bathroom and the garden.

TTV have audio on a match day.

Or subscribe to the commentary on here. £4.25 a month I think. Wi/fi broadband as opposed to radio but you can listen to it anyway and it's ALWAYS only Blackpool... plus whoever they re beating at the time of course 😁

Last year we were the DAB game quite a lot, because whenever we were I couldn't listen to it. That's really how my induction into the CKs came about.

This time so far we've had some FM games as well, on the road.

Speaking of FM, does anyone else ever get this issue? Only happens to me on the car radio FM, I'm listening to the pre dialled station for R Lancs, say the 103.9 channel. Suddenly, without warning, it'll change to 95.5 and I'm on another game.

I think they lost their medium wave frequencies which means they aren't able to accommodate as many games as they once did. Someone who is technical did explain to me that if they use an FM frequency then that same game has to be broadcast on DAB? So effectively they have 3 frequencies but 6 teams.

it searches for the strongest station signal. I'm sure you can turn it off in menu.

Away match broadcasting can come from their local BBC radio. Learn where 3 counties are on the dial.
