Rashford

Shoulder op I think. Think he got injured back end of last year in a game and hasn't been right since but played on. Hopefully get sorted and come back stronger as he didn't look right in the UEFA cup final, though he did score his penalty because he was at least warmed up and involved in the game. Weird ending the other night but don't blame him for anything. Put in a position that he shouldn't have been whether it had worked or not.

Is embarrassment now classed as an injury?
Can’t be but I’m not sure exactly where he got injured between taking a awful penalty and travelling home on a bus,we keep getting told that Gareth is a cool & collected manager but can be ruthless when needed, surely big G can’t have kicked the shit out of Marcus in the changing room after the game?

Let’s remember the abuse Gareth Southgate got when he missed that famous penalty, difference was there wasn’t social media then, but I don’t remember it being condemned.

I think it was said before the game he was going to get shoulder surgery. Weird he was involved at all. I'd have just got the surgery but I guess a home ish competition was too good to be true.

A proper proper player and I reckon we haven't seen the best of him yet.

1. Fundamentally different because Gareth Southgate wasn’t the subject of vile racist abuse for missing the penalty.
2. If we always hold ourselves to the standards of the past, things will never get better.

Or deprived a fit player of a place in the squad.
Really, do you think he’d have been selected if he wasn’t fit? He was fit, but needs the operation.

Bearing in mind the limited minutes he played, I look forward to you telling us which players missed out, that would have had a sniff of playing.
