I’ll say he steadied a fast sinking ship. Overall a 7/10.....hopefully take us up another level next season.
Did Mr Sadler get rid of the Oystons, or does Uncle Val take full credit for that?
and didn’t Karly boy and Daddy have numerous plans for a new training ground?

If so, the negatives outweigh the positives.

Karl also had plans for us to survive in the Premier League with Beattie and Kornilenko up front. His plans didn’t always work out.

I'm sure Sadler has learned a lot of lessons over the last year and will continue to do so. But he's shown he's willing to invest, both off the field and on. Some of the bigger signings have disappointed so far, but Nuttall, Thorniley, Hardie, Howe all came with rave reviews from fans and coaching staff at their previous clubs, and we were all excited for those signings, so I don't see how we can criticise Sadler for not doing his due diligence on them, and all are young enough to still make an impact yet. I'm certainly more excited than I've been in a long time. I do think some of our fans need to lower their expectations slightly and realise we aren't as big a club as they think we are. A few seasons in the championship and one in the premier league doesn't drastically change how long we had been down in these two divisions beforehand. This is a long term project

Why do people have an issue with us trying to poach other managers?
Yes it was unsuccessful but at least the club were showing ambition instead of just taking on the next chump like the Oystons did.
They did when Dirty poached Grayson.

Before he poached us at ER of course 😁

The difference being Sadler delivers. Look at the improvements he is implementing at Squires Gate while they press on with the plans for a new location.

That wasn’t a dig at Mr Sadler and teams efforts and intentions, but at the end of the season review , there wasn’t much of professional training facility at Squires Gate to report on.
End of NEXT season we’ll be the envy of football.

10 out of 10. Everything he has done he has done for the good of the club. If the Grayson appointment had been a success we would have all been pleased, picking managers is not an exact science. We now truly have a fan in charge of the club whom will do his very best for the club. Excited about the future.
Exactly Rupert 10 out of 10 just for buying OUR CLUB which you could never call it under the previous owner.
Mistakes have been made but I am positive they will have learnt from them.
It's a dream come true to have a owner like Simon Sadler who I am absolutely certain will make BFC a Club we will all be proud of. UTMP

The club infrastructure is now potentially as good as its ever been. We have a recruitment team FFS! Who'd have thought that 12 months ago? Mr Critchley will bring in a new backroom team during the summer. I still think we're 2/3 seasons away from being a serious top two League 1 side but i can be patient as the next man if we continue to see improvements on and off the field.

❌The shambolic recruitment process for Grayson’s successor

I don't think it was shambolic to be honest. I just think in these days of social media and the web etc along with no patience whatsoever that there was immense pressure on the club to appoint. Actually we had a very good temp manager in David Dunn, the club was never going anywhere in the league and I wouldn't have minded them hanging on a bit longer as am still not sure that Critchley is the right man for the job.

Everything SS has done until now is fine by me, except Larry of course. A few posters on here are awfully impatient, I went without football for 5 years during the dark days, sometimes thinking at my advanced age I may never be back. So I am delighted to once more watch my team with joy and hope for the future. After waiting all those years I am prepared to wait a couple of years more for everything to be in place, which I am sure it will be. Rome wasn’t built in a day and a lasting legacy with a club we, and our children and grandchildren will be proud to support is on its way. So I say in advance thank you Simon for making an old man very happy.

I agree with you re Larry and while it remains to be seen whether Critchley is the right man for the job or not, I'm amazed you'd have Dunn ahead of him.

This board - and life - would be very boring if we all agreed on everything.

Edit to add - I need to start reading posts properly, I thought you were saying the appointment of Larry was overly criticised. So no I don't agree with you re keeping Dunn in charge - permanently or temporarily - but yes the recruitment process was probably not the best and at times it seemed like every manager linked with the job was staying in their current role with a pay rise.

✅Return of the fans and the feel good factor

Wonder how much of that will have diminished after a poor season and Covid?

9/10 a strong 9 excellent start to his reign promotion to the Championship this season would have been the cherry on top of a delicious cake but we can wait till next season

This has without doubt been a very difficult 12 months, and even now he cannot really plan for next season with so many questions still to be answered, when can fans return, will the people who run football help the lower leagues financially or just concentrate on the spoilt few in the premier. We don’t even know when to expect next season to start. Overall this must be really frustrating for him, really keen to see what he does given a period of stability, but it’s a 👍from me.

Fully agree, although I think it was Valeri and the courts that got Oyston out. He reunited fans on both sides, plans for training ground and the atmosphere is fantastic even walking around Blackpool when I fly over seen so many people proudly wearing BFC tops makes me smile.

Reappointing Grayson was definitely a mistake, never go back, but he's human and will make plenty more mistakes but that's life.

I spoke with GTF the night him and Brett left and I can assure you he was rightly pissed off

Sadler is unlucky in regards to the pandemic but I'm confident we're in for Good times

Not a fan of trial by social media and felt a bit bad for Grayson in that respect. He said as much himself in the parting interview with the Gasjet I think.

Also if he had stuck around for a a few years and eventually turned us into a stable Championship side, then this season would have been looked on as the 'stabilising' season needed to redress the utter chaos that had preceded it.

On we go though - Critchley definitely has my attention and support 👍

Regardless of the outcome, at the time we needed a manager urgently and in that sense Larry was ok even though I never agreed with his reappointment. In relation to his successor I was pleased it took time because that showed diligence. As regards Mr. Sadler taking the reins I feel dreams come true. Thinking of the minor criticisms can anyone put forward someone better or who has the same love of the club that we have.

Strong 8/10, Grayson was a good idea but didn’t work out, better football and play offs would’ve scored a 10/10
