Recall Tharme and Casey - Send Williams back to Liverpool!!!

I have tried to be patient with Williams...........but the last three games have sent me over the top, culminating in his worst performance for us last night!!!

In the first five minutes, he watched his man run past him at back post, but he missed the target; every corner they had he had his back to the corner taker, and when the ball came in just stood and watched his team mates trying to deal with clearing the ball; has no pace, has lost his passing ability, does not like it rough and tries to avoid being where a centre half should be, leaving Marv to do the work of two; and finally last night around 65 minutes he lost possession on halfway line, then went down pretending to be injured while Rotherham continued forward - Unbelievable!!

He is not up to the Championship................we need to send him back if possible and get Tharme and Casey back, at least they will put some effort in!

Yep spot on assessment there. l'm very rarely critical of our players as the vast majority put an honest shift in (enough has been said about last night), but that was a far from acceptable performance from Rhys last night and like you l said exactly the same thing about their player getting goal side of him with ease early on and fortunately missed what l thought was an easy chance. It’s as if Appy is trying to set the team up to keep Rhys in the team and satisfy Liverpool by playing a back 3 with wing backs! It has got to and will change against Millwall and bring Hubby back into defence to provide some stability and experience, and l don’t care where Hubby plays it’s a must as our defence is shakier than a shitting dog at the moment!

I was thinking the same about terms of loan agreement. Williams was on loan at Swansea last season and only made 5 appearances, I think they realised how poor he is early. Perhaps Liverpool insisted he play more games than not so they can assess his progress, or lack of same. There must be some reason he keeps playing him, and it’s certainly not because he’s been so impressive.
 
I’m yet to see Williams make a recovery tackle and seeing him dribbling out with the ball and getting caught highlights it. He’s proper slow.

Keogh has hardly played for Ipswich appears to be carrying an injury. We need experience at the back Rotherham had an old age pensioner playing and we never tested him. Hopeless performance.
 
Doesnt matter what tactics we play our midfield is consistently poor and has been for a long time .
 
We should recall our own players for sure. Why should we keep another club’s player match fit, when our own are playing elsewhere - and when they’re probably better players too than the one we’ve borrowed.
 
I’m not even sure why we took him off swansea in the first place. They’ve never been so relieved.
Can’t we loan him out to the shrimps as they seem to be struggling

👍 He did well with us pre season, couldn't understand why we sent him on loan.

If Keogh had left earlier, I doubt he would of been loaned out and by now could of already become that regular
first team player. His throw in's would of given us something different up front as well.
 
Rather than targeting Williams as the root of all our problems, there needs to be more focus on the fact that none of the middle two or front three could keep hold of the ball for more than five seconds, nor could they make simple 5 yard passes with any accuracy. Both of which forced us to have to defend far more than we should've been doing against Rotherham.

Our problems last night, and indeed for much of the season, have been far more than just one defender playing poorly. It doesn't help of course, but most of our team just cannot pass a football for love nor money. Its the most basic of footballer requirements and we do it so so badly in almost every game. That's what worries me far more than Williams.

Yes agree with that he’s terrible should be no where near the team or squad for that matter.
 
We need to be more solid in defence and I think we need to drop this system. Proper right and left backs which pick themselves with Marv and thorniley in the middle but if he insists on keep playing this system I think he will have to bring husband in. Need somebody with bite and fight

*Plays Casey in a disappointing 0-1 defeat*
"These kids are not Championship standard, doesn't matter how much effort they put in, we need actual proven quality from the league above"
