The more I hear from MA the more I like him.
I particularly like his stance with regards to his players & the signing of new ones.
This is taken from his most recent interview:
“The reality is we’ve got a really honest group, a really young group and I don’t want to step away from that and allow someone to come into the football club who doesn’t want to be part of it, who just wants to be on the spreadsheet when it comes to getting paid every month."
In the interview, MA added that he likes to look a potential signing in the whites of his eyes when deciding if he's a good fit for our club. He does have a scary stare and I'm sure he will be good at assessing a player.

Realistically, what else is he going to say in an interview?

"The reality is we are well short on quality, and short of experience. I need to bring players in , but if they are out of our wage budget that means they are greedy and are only interested in money, not the club. I like to look at a player and see the black of his signature on the contract"

Try being a bit more 'glass half full' & give credit where it's due.
As the saying goes "misery likes company" 😒

Most managerial comments are bland and predictable. Not so with Appleton - I believe him when he talks about maintaining the cohesion in the team and wanting players who want to join to improve their game. I thought it was honest and refreshing.

You should question what's in the glass a bit.

How can you give credit to an interview (part you've quoted) when it says what you want to hear. That's it's purpose.

I don't listen to interviews, and haven't for a long time, McMahon perhaps. I don't need to as I can write it myself.
