Rediscovering an old hobby during Covid self isolation

During 15 months of Covid isolation, after reading my collection of Blackpool books and Blackpool Players’ autobiographies again, I developed a passion to build a collection of Blackpool programmes covering seasons and specific games that had very special memories for me over my 60+ years of supporting Blackpool FC. John Cross has been incredibly helpful and he has enabled me to source the vast majority of programmes I wanted. However there are still 2 Blackpool programmes I now desperately need “ Southampton v Blackpool season 2010/11 FA Cup 3rd round “ and “ Blackpool v Northampton 1965/66 season “. If anybody has a spare copy of either of these programmes please let me know, I would be very happy to pay the going rate for them.

I find myself watching documentaries & listening to Podcasts on American Wrestling from years ago, the ins and outs of who was nice l, who was a dickhead, who was an alcoholic druggy or adulterer & funny stories

just to say i was a big wrestling fan until about 2007 then realised how crap it is, it was very good growing up

my 2 dreams were 1- Play at Wembley for Blackpool & 2- as a kid was wrestle at wrestlmania lol

Also if anyone is as desperate as I probably am listening to these podcasts Jim Cornette has a brilliant one, he doesnt hold back don’t know how hes not sued

I have photos of a friends 1910 Blackpool programme, Apparently the oldest know.. Trying to get the photo onto here..

Often listen to Cornette. He's a very funny guy and a great story teller.

Other than watching hundreds of movies I am now watching pretty much anything by the late, great Anthony Bourdain. His travel food shows are quite simply outstanding.

Been doing the same re AB , I watch mark weins,/ best ever food review- sonney side/ food ranger & Andrew Zimmerman after that- love my travel & food although they aren’t on the same level I find them interesting and really informative-Trevor James is annoying if you’re not familiar with him but I still find him entertaining

I am listening. It's always been Rick Stein for me. He's like a friendly voice and I've always adored all his shows.

I can remember as a student in the 1990's watching AB in the dead of night (No Reservations I think) and loved his slick, cool, smoke a tab and just brilliant and intelligent persona in the shows. Since then I've not watched anything other than being unreasonably sad when I read of his death. Both where and how. I never knew it was in the middle of filming. What a terrible shame for such a brilliant person.

I will definitely go on a viewing journey of the guys you posted. Cheers.

Don’t expect the same level as AB but if you travel to India/ SE Asia and you like to be adventurous with your food you’ll enjoy them

Unbelievable and unexpected responses, all I asked was did anybody have a spare copy of the 2010/11 Southampton v Blackpool FA Cup 3rd round programme and the 1965/66 Blackpool v Northampton Town programme and all I get back is from AVFTD (A View from the Doggers).

Must say, re-discovered how much I loved gardening! Bit dull but my garden this year is the best it's been for 20 years from the work I put in last year. Ironic thing is, we're sticking the house on the market before the end of the year and will break my heart a bit to leave it behind!
