Reece James

People are far too quick to crown players as better than the others and start talking in absolutes.

James has played 1 game at left back yet we have people saying he is undoubtedly better than Garbutt. The same thing happened with Lavery and Yates, Bowler and Mitchell, Dale and Keshi and also with the crowning of Carey after Reading game and then the quiet sidelining of him after the Stoke game.

It's a squad game, we have two or three players for each position and we will need them all. It will be horses for courses and game will suit some players that won't suit others.

Talking in absolutes demonstrates fickleness and a lack of understanding of football as a squad game.
Well said!

Garbutt for me is very much a confidence player, you can see it in his body language. At the start of the season I was watching him closely when he wasn't doing too well, and you could see he wasn't quite committing to what he was doing, looked apprehensive when the ball was coming his way. Then he settled down and had a run of games where he was back to his old self, decent in defence and a real asset going forward/dead balls and for me, proved he 100% is good enough for the Championship. The recent spell out of the side appears to have set him back a little, as when he came on vs. Stoke I thought he looked a little hesitant again. I see no reason to write him off just because James had a decent game though.

James did really well I thought and with games in his better position, I'm sure he'll improve too, and abit like Grimmy in goal, it's great that we have multiple players of quality in pretty much every position. Its almost like Critchley and co. have a plan!

I think Gabriel and Bowler down the right is already frightening enough, we just need to click more in the final 3rd and start testing goalkeepers more.
I think to start testing keepers more we still need that central attacking midfielder in the KDH mould. I still think it's the one position where we could strengthen. I don't think Sonney's quite there yet but I think he'll be bossing that spot next season. We're a bit too reliant on the wings at the mo and at times it can get predictable. We are doing well as it is though. Much better than I expected to be honest.

Did i drink too much before the game or did we look like a far more cohesive and effective unit with RJ at left back ? I thought the lad had a really good game and we looked solid and played the best footy ive seen this season.

Is Garbs being sidelined for a while is a blessing in disguise ?

Did all the players raise their game for the TV cameras ?

Or was I in a pished up fantasy land where we looked ace ?
I really like Reece James, I thought he had a very good game on Saturday and he was the standout (for me) at Millwall covering right back. I know Donny fans that can't believe he is not getting in to the team he was their player of the year.

I think he has been injured I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. Its getting to the point where I want to see quite a few players coming in or back in. Grettarson, James, CJ if he is back to the CJ we have seen, Owen Dale, Maxwell & Lavery when they are fit. Would like to see how good Oliver Kasey is too

Exciting times
