Rhodes last game?

This is the best reason I've read for what I've hoped will happen, that they didn't really want him all along. But there's a chance to squeeze a few quid out of it, they're Yorkies after all!
It depends what's written in the contract but not sure a loan deal works like that. We could buy out his contract and offer him a permanent deal or keep him on loan on the same terms or he goes back.

A few things

1. Jordan Rhodes is on £8K + a week (that bit i know) he’s miles over our normal player weekly budget and most teams in League 1’s budget - I have no idea what we are paying him £3/4K / week perhaps, I dunno, and no-one other than he and our Club Paymaster Gerneral knows

2. Given the state we’re in, it wouldn’t surprise me if he pleaded to go back to Huddersfield Town as at least they have something to play for

3. We won’t get a sniff at any forward half as good - why? Because we have nowt to play for and the recent dip in form wouldn’t inspire me to move to Blackpool FC - in the same way …,why would you aspire to move to Carlisle bottom of L1 - Plus why would we attract anyone Half good anyway ?

4. The transfer window could cause further damage to our position - seemingly 2 or more very experienced players leaving and reasoning behind it a mystery (could be several reasons) and no obvious rumours of anyone replacing them coming in

5. We have a big squad and with no prospect of gaining any more money through a promotion push etc it might make sense (given most of the squad was fit) to offload a few surplus players.

6. Of the youngsters; not sure how good any of them are yet - probably a season too early for them

Other than that - get behind the team v Lincoln please
A tad half empty I see.

He'll play tomorrow and will also play at Forest as an absolute minimum. He's cup tied so no point going to Huddersfield any earlier as they'd have to pay all his wages for a fortnight but can't play him.

I think he'll stay anyway.

Watched at the end and bar Critch going to him first, there was no big wave goodbye or farewell .. always a positive sign.
I thought the opposite - I thought he was looking a little down as if to say I’m off and not happy abouts it

After the latest Huddersfield defeat, admittedly to the best team in the championship, hopefully Big Dave gets the sack and they bring back Warnock!

When the North stand chanted 'sign him up' at the end of the game, me and my lad saw the look on his face. Both of us commented on that it was more of a resigned look which suggested to us both that he's going back.
Hope we're both wrong. His work rate was unbelievable again today.

I watched him closely at the end and as the crowd chanted ‘sign him up’ he looked down to the ground which to me suggested he was trying to tell us he wants to put down roots here, he was also stood on grass at the time which backs this theory up.

However, as he got towards to the tunnel I saw him touch his left ear whilst smiling which in Eskimo means ‘Up the Terriers’. Heart sank when I saw this. Don’t know if anyone else picked up on anything like this? All very confusing.

Surprised no one mentioned he had his 2 kids come out with him.as mascots today. Both had Rhodes shirts on.
IMO that's not a good sign, and I've been convinced he waa staying with us from.day 1....

No it wouldn't! Pay him the same as our top earner, maybe more, and make up the rest in an undisclosed signing on fee! He's worth every penny! I'd make it a player/coach roll though, he has way too much football knowledge to let the opportunity go!
It's a good job you're spending someone else's money........whilst at the same time making decisions on something you know nothing about....ie the wage structure.

If we want to have any chance of making the play offs we have to sign him, he was fantastic today and ran his socks off. We need Marv and Kenny to sign on the dotted line too and then go and get 2 or 3 quality players in who will add more to the team. If we lose Rhodes, Kenny, Marv then we will be mid table at best especially if we sign the likes of Charlton cast offs and I include Kirk in that!

If we get promoted Sadler will be 10 million better off, he is only going to cost £500k at most and that includes wages for the rest of the season. FFS, some people are so ** lacking in ambition. He bought a football club FFS, he isn't supposed to sit on his hands, he knows the score, better than someone like you, that's for sure!

We meed to show some ambition, make an offer. I've said it before, we should offer 500k and then let Huddersfield decide if he is worth more than that to them for a few months.

Well Critchley announced today that Weir is going back to Brighton but nothing re Rhodes. He might as well stay with us for the FA cup tie.

I'm not spending anyone's money or making any decisions on anything I know nothing about but hey, thanks for your insightfull contribution!

I agree with that. Half a million tops, but he is essential if we are to go up and won't happen if he doesn't stay. That would more than pay for it. Worth the gamble.

I think his actions at full time were very telling.

He was the first one over to the North, and I could be wrong, but the way he did the ‘I’m not worthy’ bow down, threw his shirt into the crowd and kept waving and shouting ‘bye’ suggested to me that he could be off.

If we really want him to stay he needs to score the winner at Forest (subject to being allowed to play) and that might generate the extra funds for him to wave bye to Huddersfield

Even the Critch haters might keep quiet for a day !
