Richard Walker’s header v Plymouth

Electric night in the South Paddock. Took a mate who supported Plymouth . He wouldn’t speak to us on the way home he was devastated

I was stood right next to the Plymouth fans in the east that night and remember thinking they had brought a fair few for such a long way on a Tuesday night. Even when the game was on one of their fans managed to get pitch side and attach a couple of green balloons to the net.
Yes they were completely stunned when we got that winner but it’s fair to say that has the be one of the loudest goal celebrations I’ve ever known at home.

The best header I've seen for Blackpool, I was inching my way out of the scratching sheds when Walker hammered his header in. Looking back, similar to Ormerod's winner against Watford, it was the catalyst for our promotion that season.

I must of been stood right next to you, i was right in line with it, whilst edging towards
the exit from the half way line 👍 . Still the best header for Blackpool ive ever seen

Either the Walker header or Micky Walsh Vs Fulham in 1975 (6?) when, according to Barry Davies, he "came the most enormous distance". This led to "the crowd going mad in (somewhere called) the popular end."

Word perfect

It was blowing a gale towards the north that night as well. Most couldn't have kicked it that far into that wind.

I was in the East Paddock at the South end & from memory it was a poor game, with everybody about to depart deflated when Tommy Jaszczun put in a late deep cross then the rest is history. I didn't care how crap the game had been, we won in the dying seconds & went home elated.

I seem to remember that Plymouth didn't even try to score a goal that night, it was one of the most defensive performances by an away side I've ever seen, and it was immensely frustrating which only added to the elation at the end. I think they'd time wasted all the way through too which is why there was a fair chunk of injury time at the end.

I can’t believe the speed it goes in at on the video.

ive said it every time this goal gets posted but for me this one of my favourite goals and everything went in slow motion watching it curl into the corner!

I was in the South Paddock, and went mental when that went in 👍

Best header I have ever seen by a pool player, in fact I am struggling to think of any better!

That was a meaty header and the best I've ever seen, for the Mighty anyway.

I was there that night. Drove up with some mates from London (before I moved up here). Piss wet through, could not believe that goal. Think Argyle kicked off & the ref blew his whistle. Traipsed back to car getting even wetter. Was still soaking wet when I got home....but that's what watching the likes of Argyle is all about so when they win you want to hold a street party.
