The Ex Australian Cultural attaché definitely deserves his very own thread . Loved this guy .
I've heard Barry Humphries isn't well, they say these things come in threesTerribe loss for Australia. Sir Les and Dame Edna on the same day.
Excuse my ignorance but who is Barry McKenzie?Barry McKenzie will be crestfallen.
Have not seen you in my cave. (look on Wrexham thread).Excuse my ignorance but who is Barry McKenzie?
One of the greatest characters in Australian cinematic history. The Adventures of BM, available on YouTube, is a way to catch up. Edna is in it and is a tale of an ocker Aussie parading his stuff in early 70s London. Barry Humphreys wrote a comic strip in Private Eye back then and it transformed to the big screen. Sponsored by Fosters there was a lot of boozy debauched action throughout. The Aussie establishment were horrified as it depicted the Aussies abroad as a bunch of sex mad beer swilling morons. Which Bazza and Humph acted out to perfection. It was marvellous entertainment and true to life some might sayExcuse my ignorance but who is Barry McKenzie?

Barry Crocker played BMc and went on to find fame and fortune as the writer and singer of the world renowned theme song from the TV show Neighbours. Still trying to live it down to this day but made a wad of cash from his cringe inducing crooning
They would have been some fun Fridays I would say. The one eyed trouser snake should have been used as incidental music during episodes of NeighboursYep, agreed . The Neighbours theme tune might have made him wealthy but it’s not a patch on BMcK’s cultural jewel “The One-Eyed Trouser Snake”. In the late 70s, the old Scala cinema in Withington used to have a late Friday night showing and the BMcK films often featured along with Monty Python. All our student yesterdays...
