RIP El Tel - he was an innovator and his sides were always worth watching. a character too - that expressed itself in his brand of football as well.

when spurs won the cup in 91, he was v complimentary about us and said that apart from the famous semi-final v arsenal, we were their toughest opponents.

I was lucky enough to go to all the England games in Euros 96 apart from the opener and it was a really exciting time with a great team and great attacking football, there was a real buzz around the whole country, something Southgate will never emulate, Tel was the reason behind it. RIP
