Rob Apter: Scouting report

Greetings from the sunny Wirral. I ran into my erstwhile neighbour in the Heswall Tesco. He is a huge Tranmere fan (see, there's always someone worse off than yourself) and naturally I asked him about Rob. He was gushing in his praise, saying "He's been brilliant. So clever, teams can't handle him". Nice to hear.

I had hoped, even expected that he would become a squad player for us this season and maybe force his way into the team. Another view was taken. Good to know that he continues to develop.

I fear anyone with an ounce of individuality cannot fit in Critchley's system.

Critchley does not become maestro on the back of 1 performance. His selections and set up have cost us loads of points so far, and his stubbornness many more.
I never said he did Tangy. I was just responding to your post about anyone with an ounce of individuality not fitting in Critchleys team. Dembele certainly has loads of individuality and plays regularly
Just another poster who has a dig at Critch for no reason whatsoever.
Just can’t help yourself.

I wanted Critchley to be successful, but the digs he gets are fully warranted.
Dembele should be the kingpin in midfield as Wes was, but we do not play to his strengths

IMO totally different player than Wes, your not matching apples with apples

Are you serious? What do you think happened today.
Dembele started on the bench and when he came on in the second half he was brilliant.
Had he started he would have been knocked from pillar to post from the word go, so instead Critch brought him on with 30 minutes left and it worked. So that is obviously playing to Dembele’s strength is it not.

I love Dembele and hope he goes on to match or better Hoolahans career, but Wes was pretty magical for a very long time!
