Concerned that afterwards he was blaming the players, that can be s slippery slope. Brought the 3 midfield players on too late to affect the game. But yes we never signed the solid experienced midfield player that we needed.
 
Yeah we were shit but a half decent manager would have recognised what was happening after 10 minutes, yet Appleton left it until 10 minutes into the 2nd half before doing anything about it? Finger of blame only points in one direction IMO
 
Agree with MA, we didn’t win first balls, second balls, we were bullied, we didn’t match their physicality, we wilted too easy. We had absolutely nothing up top and defended like Sunday league players. Not good enough. Looking back at the highlights of last nights games the thing that stands out is the quality of finishing. We don’t have it.
 
We had needed to sign a goal scorer the whole of the window, but it never happened for one reason or another, probably money related. I have a horrible feeling it is now going to bite us on the backside!
