He did the devere for years. Was always very pleasant to staff and happy to chat. Other ‘stars’ a lot less so.He stays at the Grand in St Annes
Honestly who cares if someone is a drug taking, wife cheating, abusive, sexist alcoholic(not CB) you either like the act or you don't .
I love my music I'm not interested if any of the band is off their knackers on Charlie sleeping with whores whilst having 3 kids.
You either like the comedian or not they sell tickets and if they don't they don't tour simples but to ban an act because of material is very a sticky wicket to go down.
Evil Bastard ?? SeriouslyThe one thing that can be said for him is that he is not as offensive as that evil bastard Bernard Manning. He was truly the Racist's Comedian.
Frankie Boyle is also an offensive ex alcoholic but doesn't get frowned upon by the Guardianistas because his politics are to the left. Comedians should be allowed to be offensive regardless of politics, it's not hate speech, they're not inciting people.Met him a couple of times he's actually sound.
His act is of a time and outdated now, but if someone wants to buy his ticket who is anyone to critisize same as a old band from the past doing a tour.
As someone posted above if you want to be shocked go and see a Frankie Boyle gig where three quarters of the act is on peadophila he makes Chubby look like a Nun in comparison.
Who on earth would want to sleep with a prostitute while they are giving birth to tripletsHonestly who cares if someone is a drug taking, wife cheating, abusive, sexist alcoholic(not CB) you either like the act or you don't .

I’d add John Bishop to that listFrankie Boyle is also an offensive ex alcoholic but doesn't get frowned upon by the Guardianistas because his politics are to the left. Comedians should be allowed to be offensive regardless of politics, it's not hate speech, they're not inciting people.
The only comedians I think should be banned are Russell Howard and Rob Beckett, because they're ** shit.
Isn't the O/P asking why Sheffield should ban him? That was kind of the point really…
If you think CB’s act is crude etc.., then him ‘apparently’ being a well mannered, well spoken (in fact one of the ‘best spoken’ people TTG has met ) etc.. really doesn’t make any difference either…
Borderline on that one.I’d add John Bishop to that list

Who cares the rest if he's crude or cheats on his wife etc.
Should Chubby not be allowed to work again and I say again that's a very sticky wicket to go down.
Frankie’s act isn’t promoting paedophilia......exactly the opposite. I think he’s a geniusMet him a couple of times he's actually sound.

I think some will lap up that homo erotica image mate20s with a bone.
There's an image none of us wanted.
Suppose you’ll want him bannedHe says he didn’t on this interview.
A case of ‘well he would say that’ perhaps, who knows.
I’ve got no time for his act, never have had. Having read this thread, I watched this interview and I thought he came across well, fnrrrr, fnnrrr.
In the words of an actually great comedian 'it's a challenging wank'.I think some will lap up that homo erotica image mate
Bless. RIPIn the words of an actually great comedian 'it's a challenging wank'.

Talking of 20s...Perhaps one to bring to mind (at the appropriate time) for any premature ejaculators
Where?Fuck me there’s some absolute ** drips on here. Clearly a sense of humour is dead with the woke. I pity you.
And Michael McIntyre, now he is really offensive thinking he’s a comedian!I’d add John Bishop to that list

No thanks … I’m busy watching repeats of “Celebrity, Vegan, Naked, Jungle Factor” that weekendIt's 'Frankie Goes To Hollywood' all over again.......Ban it....and everyone wants it......
CHUBBY BROWN......So Outrageous, they tried to ban him....Tickets£25£35 each...
Shall I put The Bifster down for 2...?
But that's the way things are going, ain't it? In these easily offended times.Honestly who cares if someone is a drug taking, wife cheating, abusive, sexist alcoholic(not CB) you either like the act or you don't .

Depends which way the wind is blowing plenty of famous people have been caught being naughty(drugs, cheating, alcoholics etc) yet are lauded whilst others are hung out to dry.But that's the way things are going, ain't it?

Because some at Sheffield council have taken a moral stance after a few complaints and they cancel the show Blackpool Council have already been fined for the Franklin Graham farce they shouldn't get involved it's between the Theatre and it's promoters. There seems to be a fairly common theme developing here…
“If you don’t like it don’t watch it” and I think that’s fair enough….
So why the. Is…
“If you don’t like it, don’t support it at your venue” such a big issue….?

These idiots couldn't run a bath yet they've got involved,(trying to put concerts on the prom utter Ends) what every time someone emails a bloody council in the UK they don't like XYZ they stop it no fuckin thanks.
I thought you'd be dead set against that type of dictating but hey ho.
Needs the swearing to get anything close to a laugh. Mind you, his audience is usually pissed up enough to laugh at owt.Alternatively, best CB joke: Chubby’s wife, “Chubby I’m homesick, CB, This is yer fuckin home. Wife, I know I’m fuckin sick of it!
Needs the swearing to get anything close to a laugh. Mind you, his audience is usually pissed up enough to laugh at owt.
Quite. Just as Alf Garnett was an act, but millions took his racist, sexist persona at face value.I’m not rowing TTG, I’m simply expressing a perspective. I think he’s full of shit mate, that’s all.
It is an act, you’re right (probably the most profane act in the U.K.), which makes his whole fake morality (in real life) all the more nauseating.
Needs the swearing to get anything close to a laugh. Mind you, his audience is usually pissed up enough to laugh at owt.
True enough, used to bang a cassette of his on when we had the bar early 80’s in Magalluf packed full of Geordies, they loved him obvs, but so did our till!Needs the swearing to get anything close to a laugh. Mind you, his audience is usually pissed up enough to laugh at owt.
He is no more vulgar than many things you hear on tv these days. It appears you can’t be funny unless every other word is an expletive, even in everyday programs, even creeping into ads eg. Green Flag.I’m far from a prude but the guy is vulgar
According to you. My Dad thought he was fantastic entertainment. I took him 4 times over the years to Preston Guildhall, Winter Gardens, Lowther Pavilion and the Grand Theatre. Dad had vascular dementia (and past away before NAPM finished) but it was worth every minute to see him laughing. And I quite enjoyed the show myselfI understand the issue with cancel culture and silencing views, all of which I'm against in general... but this guy is an absolute w*nker and his humour is ancient history.
I met him in Louth where he lives. I agree that he s totally different in real life. I told him I was from Blackpool and we had a laugh about his times over here. Lovely bloke.I got to know the off stage Roy, his stage persona is what it is, but it’s just an act.
He‘s one of the most well spoken person I’ve ever met.
Plus when off stage, woe betide anyone who swore in front of a lady.
Nah, not these days, we have to live by the rules of the oversensitive (notice how I'm being polite there).Surely the punter should be able to choose if he wants to buy a ticket and watch his show not some woke local authority.
