Ruben Rodriguez

Surely, this is one of the reasons we re-engaged Critch. Whichever prospect we approach or speak to, we point to the likes of Bowler and say that if they want to play in the top flight, Bloomfield is the most conducive stage on which to showcase their abilities.
There's a slight problem though!!
Bowler hasn't played in the top flight, just been pushed from pillar to post.
Got a decent tan then struggled back at the place Forest got him from.

Great endorsement 😉👍🏻

He's exactly the sort of player we should be looking at. As much as Derby are a big club and an attractive option, don't underestimate how much some players will want to trust Critchley in their development. I would hope a lot of players would prefer that, than the Warne hoofball stuff.

Scotland may be worth a look for developing young players. Two Falkirk lads spring to mind: Maksym Kucheryavyi is a 21 yo, Ukranian u21 attacking midfielder; Archie Meekison is 22 yo, also an attacking midfielder and capped for Scotland's u21s. Both are out of contract at the end of this month.

Us and Derby in for him on a free. Attacking midfielder, 26, plenty of goals him. Ticks all the Critch boxes.

Happy to name my source, a mate whose in the workings of Notts County. He is out of contract so not exactly breaking anything confidential.
I watched him closely in the final few games for county and I thought he was pretty poor apart from the odd glimpse of talent..I don’t think he would be a wow signing by any stretch of the imagination

In one of the play off games he had an absolute shocker, although one game in isolation isn't enough to judge.
Well, maybe on avftt it is. A short sub appearance is normally enough.

Shed load of Division 2 players and a crop of academy kids who got to play Championship football thanks to BFC and Critch.
One of them got a move to a Premier League club and is now financially secure for life.

Or join Derby and feel the weight of expectation crush you every week.

He is a good player. Seen him loads of times on bt. Got his tooth knocked out in one of the games. Will be good for them. Wish we had got him.

That’s not how we operate. We will make a few joke bids miles below value, after they’ve all been finally rejected, in the last minute of the transfer window we will make a last minute panic signing like Dale or Callum Wright. That coupled with a couple of TJJ loans and league 2 freebies will ensure another season in League One.

Cheer up Mr Gloomy . You may very well be pleasantly surprised

I'm keeping my powder dry, new season, fresh start, have to see how it goes. I am not a fan of Sadler as a football person as everyone knows and I didn't want Quitchley as our manager so I am going to wait and see what happens. I am hoping it's going to be great and will be the first to praise the 2 of them if things go well. Should things go tits, then I will be ready with some opinions.

Pre-season, has to be a lot lot better than last season, no ** about with bids and wages, if we can't afford a player, don't go for him, don't bullshit, oh, he's gone! I keep going back to the interview with Sadler and Quitch a few weeks ago. WTF did Sadler mean by he tried to get anyone but Quitch, that is the weirdest thing I have ever heard and it bothers me.

It was a joke. He was joking. Critchley was always the top target and was the top target in January but it wasn’t the right time. Sadler is extremely happy to have NC back and rightly so.

Quite simple really.

He knew that going back puts extra pressure on any returnee. Therefore he looked at loads of other candidates BUT they didn't have the credentials Neil had.

Therefore, due diligence was done and the right man, in his opinion, was chosen.

I never updated this as it became a 3 horse race. Pompey / Derby / Oxford.

Pompey and Derby pulled out because he had a poor play offs! So that left Oxford.

Just been announced RR has signed for Oxford... That's some signing that, real show of ambition from them.
But how can that be. People on here keep saying contracts run until the end of June. It is thinking like that which causes us to miss targets and get left at the starting post!

It was tongue in cheek, what an odd thing to not notice.

We'll probably end up signing a bunch of defenders and wingers. Can't the club see our biggest problem is in midfield.

A good midfield helps keep the pressure off the defence and helps supply the forwards. That was key for us reaching the Premier League (Adam, Southern)

On what grounds will we ‘probably’ do that?
