Rwanda policy position upheld

A very clear statement by the UK Supreme Court today. You do have to wonder at the sheer moral poverty of whoever came up with this wretched policy.

Given that the court relied upon, copious evidence that the Rwandan Government cannot be trusted to treat asylum complaints equitably, it's hard to see where the Government goes from here. Back to the drawing board, hopefully.

I was reading at the weekend that this policy will make very difference anyway - and that the expectation is that only 300 asylum seekers would be sent to Rwanda in any one year. The backlog currently stands at around 175,000, I believe.
