Sadler/Critch Interviews

Thought the interviewer was decent actually - didn't hold any punches.
I just hope Critch has been on holiday and from tomorrow morning is at the club and will send the next 5 weeks preparing, researching and bringing in who we need. Sounds like he's hungry and has a point to prove and actually unlike Appleton and Grayson his time between leaving and returning is so small he'll be able to just fit right back in,

Thought that was a very good interview of both SS and NC. SS 'we looked elsewhere apart from NC but the same results of the process kept coming back to NC' in my words! NC acknowledged he made mistakes probably ill advised too but we do need to move on and get behind. He spoke very positively like he always does not like the other 2 numpties!

Wasn't that hard was it Simon?!!!

Interesting they used an agency (?) to conduct the manager search.

Fantastic interview.

Main points for me:

-Dobbie chose to not be assistant manager.

-Club used a search firm to compile names, they really were going all out.

-Critchley and Sadler were both awkward throughout, but that's to be expected addressing such a big elephant in the room.

-Sadler addresses the mistakes of this season very candidly.

I recognised Critch (I've Ditched the Quitch now) but who was the other guy? 😂
I thought it was a decent interview and Critch does have the ability to put us back on track.
I always hope we'd get another Critchley type but not necessarily the man himself.
I'd have preferred the excitement of Dobbie but the deal has been done and I do now believe Critch will offer us a period of stability unless he's completely lost the plot.
I also think he will be good for Sadler so let's hope for a period of calm in the Boardroom and a return to winning ways on the pitch.
The next big call is the appointment of Critch's staff and of course his transfer targets.
Most of all I hope he works closely with Dobbie and the young pro's don't get excluded.

I don't think it's ever been in question that Critchley works hard and I'm absolutely certain he'll be back at his desk tomorrow.

To be fair it was far better than I expected and there was bound to be awkwardness if the questions put to them were right.
Not as sanitised as I expected.
I thought it was very honest and humble from Critch - clearly see he knows he fooked up and he has apologised ( which struck me as very genuine). Yes he looked a little awkward and so he should, I think also he realises he is very lucky to get a second chance at such an ambitious club. For me now what’s in the past stays in the past let’s move on and get behind him. I think is is hungry to succeed and will be a better manager for the experience which will benefit us I think.

Yep, same here now and I bet he is angry with himself for burning all those bridges.

He best lay off the fist pumps for a while though 🤫🙄

Good interview. Glad he apologised for the way he left. (because he couldn't say anything?...interesting comment).
Looking forward to seeing who we sign in the summer, and then the new season getting underway.

I would hardly say it was a cutting interview, one question regarding how he would have done things differently - the response was "it wasn't my fault"

You'd hope he'll do an interview that isn't from the club where the questions aren't prepared and he's grilled a bit more on his decision to leave. That'd do a better job of restoring some respect, I think there is a perception he didn't want to face the music when he left, so doing it now would certainly help.

Just wish Simon said sorry for the big mistakes

The situation with Mr Dobbie is a significant point. A sensible decision, imho. He gets to be his own man with the development squad. If Critchley fails to deliver or moves on suddenly again, he is not tarnished by association.

I feel Mr Dobbie may have extracted some important promises from the owner as to his own future, as a condition of him staying. He now knows his value to the club’s ethos and plans. But I doubt there would have been a great increase in pay from moving from his current position to that of assistant to Critchley.

I found myself being more interested in what Simon had to say than Neil. But a decent interview generally, I was against it but it is what it is. If we do well, Critchley will be the best thing ever again. I'm looking forward to seeing which players we sign as we've made some bad decisions in player recruitment too, and that really will be the test to see if the aim is promotion or not.

Felt a bit better hearing the full version of SS talking about not Dobbie “this time” - I really hope the club now puts in place the right support to groom talent from within and Dobbie is seen as being a manager for us in waiting. Maybe the same with people like Eardley too.

Good interview tbh.

Good to hear Simon speaking as you get an idea of what he's thinking too.

I did like the bit where hes asked how tough it was when Critchley left and he says well he'd just signed a 4.5 year contract...and Neil's grinning.

He's admitted they were under prepared for him leaving.

I hope the interview is put on YouTube as tbh all fans need to see not just those with TTV.
