His recent jobs?

First APOEL in Cyprus dismissed him within two months, after five losses.

Then Cardiff sacked McCarthy when the club broke its record with eight defeats in a row.

Achievements?

He took Sunderland to the Premier League a full 18 years ago and Wolves 14 back.

You ignored supporters' earlier advice.

Both Grayson and Appleton flopped.

Now panic, with the head coach gone far later than should have proved the case?

Make a hat trick from the same error?

Hire a successor with RECENT SUCCESS.

Hello is that the short memory police, I've forgot how BFC used to be

McCarthy was obviously offered the job in readiness for the departure of MA, otherwise there would have been advertisements for the vacant managerial role followed by the usual recruitment process.
I will reserve judgement on the appointment except to say he has stacks more experience than the outgoing manager.

Love him or hate him you can’t argue with a few of paulco’s stats.

The appointments under Sadler of both Grayson and Appleton have been disastrous for the club.

Wether we say the same about McCarthy remains to be seen.

What's short sighted about it? Without getting into a discussion about what's gone on before, if the board don't think there's enough time to go through what they do to get who they think is right, then they have to make a stop gap appointment to cover the period, and get us out of the mire.

It might have been internal, in the end they've decided that's for another time. So we hope he's got the experience use the squad he has to get as many results as he can, to keep us in the division.

Are you sure you're not just disappointed it's him because you already expect what the football will be like? Yes that's a risk, he has form for it, but it's not the end of the world to take a 3-4 month gamble on staying up. Wouldn't expect he'll be in charge next year whether he's successful or not, although who knows if he'd be interested in a support role - his experience would be valuable.

He’s not going to know the squad, so I assume someone like Dobbie will need to advise him for Saturday.
Appleton tried to get our players using a system they either weren’t familiar with or couldn’t play.
I expect MM will be exactly the same.
It will be like asking a ballet dancer to switch to rugby.
Long term, if he gets the job permanently, he might be able to build his brand of turgid football if the results keep ticking over.
He’s not a manager for the future and I can’t imagine he would attract younger fans to Bloomfield Rd.
All imo. He might be brilliant, but I doubt it.

Yes Dobbie and/or the other assistant I can't remember the name of.
But either way I doubt McCarthy's here as top man beyond this season.

And what was Holloway’s track record like when he arrived at Bloomers and what has he achieved since apart from taking a team at the time top of the league scraping promotion through the play-offs.

Don’t discuss what Independent fans should do or think your just a WUM.

Now FUCK OFF!!!!!!

McCarthy is another Grayson, a dinosaur in the modern game. He may do a job but over the last few years he's been found out.

Can't say I'm looking forward to football the McCarthy way, can anyone else?
