Didn't he say in one of his interview what our budget is compared to other teams in League One?
Did he say Top 4 or Top 6 or have I made that up?
 
Aye, he said top 6, so basing our position purely on this means it's been a complete failure of a season. Not to mention we have the most expensive player bought last summer terrifying L1 defences and goalkeepers. 🙈
 
Will progressing his plans for the new training ground have a detrimental effect on the playing budget over the coming years?

Not as simple as that. There are significantly more variables involved in league position such as injuries etc. Having a top 6 budget and coming 7th does not signify complete failure at all.
 
Having a top 6 budget available doesn't mean we have spent top 6. Also a bit of financial wizardry to get around contractual add ons and sell ons doesn't mean we have actually paid top league one fee for a player either, more that his value was inflated to bring down what we owe in sell ons.

I'm perfectly aware of that, I did say "basing it purely on league potion" it's complete failure. Oh and we're 9th, not 7th.

Oh I know that, it would leave us screwed if we do get promoted! No matter how you slice it, 9th is rubbish whether judged on budget or playing squad. There's no way Sadler will be content with that position, I know that much.

Its not rubbish at all. Disappointing maybe but not rubbish. So dramatic.

It all boils down to personal expectations and ambitions, I'd say 9th in L1 is rubbish. Our away form is more like 19th in L1! It isn't just the league position though, it's the entertainment value, a lot of our performances have been dire. I wouldn't call that dramatic in the slightest.
 
The budget may be top 6 but we’re clearly not getting value from some of those players. I understand Dom Thompson is on a pretty healthy contract yet has offered very very little. Norburn will be on a top wage for this level too… yet hasn’t exactly done much to justify it !
If our average wage in the Championship was around 6k per week that means we had players on significantly more than that… and the chances are a few are still earning more than that.
Fortunately that competitive budget will be freed up that bit more this summer 🤞
 
Out of interest who were the other 5 in the Top 6 - I presume the Top 5 now in League One and Lincoln are the 'rogue' side or would Oxford be up there?
