Safe Hands SFO Fraud Investigation

I noticed that the SFO have launched a fraud investigation into this funeral plan company that went into admin last year. The numbers seem pretty scary and will have hurt the most vulnerable in society. I have never seen the logic of paying cash upfront for a future event, where there is no guarantee that the company will be around to honour their commitment. However, with the wall to wall day time advertising of these types of plans, I understand while people are taken in.

If the SFO find guilt, these people should spend some serious prison time.
 
Can't agree more, but many people do not trust their own ability to keep money ring fenced, and these companies play on this.

Remember the Christmas club years ago that closed, having transferred its entire liquidity to its parent company? Shysters
 
The FCA had concerns about this company years ago and people still bought plans. Do people just throw money away without getting the facts.

Sadly those most at risk lack the education, or knowledge, to gather the facts. The lure of glossy advertising of fear will prey on their minds.
