I've heard we have put another bid in for Lavelle the centre half from Morecambe.
Blackpool born lad who had good season.
Hopefully if he signs this will mean Keogh will be used as cover!

I do remember having a discussion last season about how we were going to all our CBs happy. Little did we realise.
Having said that Lavelle wouldn't be top of my shopping list but what do I know?

I think Casey will go out on loan, seems a bit lightweight at the minute, game time at a decent L1/L2 could do wonders for him this season

Why buy another CH after getting shut of Thorniley on loan?
Blackpool have treated Thorniley badly.
1st they tell him to find another club last window as he's not wanted, then tell him he's to play the back half of the season as most of the CHs are dropping like flies.
He could have chucked the toys right out the cot but being the professional he is he helped get Blackpool promoted.
His reward? Out on loan to Oxford!!🤷‍♂️

RB is overrated. We’ve played Barks and Super Brett there in the near past 😂
Even an injured Rashford played there for England in the Euros

Yes, very poorly treated.

RCB - Marv, Connolly, Casey
LCB - Husband, Gretarsson

Keogh is short term insurance, surely. Williams came in last season on a 1 year, helped out a bit til Dougall and Stewart arrived and settled in, left in January.

Connolly seems to be thought of as a utility player. I'm not convinced, he's a central defender surely. Those 5 above should be enough but with Gretarsson and Ekpiteta having missed lots of action with injury, maybe not. Husband may end up back at LB at times, possibly. Is Lavelle left footed?

And when called upon, he played rather well and didn’t let anyone down.

Right footed.

Family member has said Morecambe are looking to sell him this window, as he’s in the last year of his contract and this is the last opportunity to get some cash in for him as they don’t expect him to sign on again with them.

Can’t see us going in for him given our CB compliment at the minute, he’s a big Blackpool fan though.

Yeah we have a few CDs, but if Marv isn't fit we are down to Keogh and Connolly on the right. I don't think keough has been brought here to nplay a lot, more about smoothing the transition and getting involved in coaching, I bet.

Yes could be a bit depleted and if Viking isn’t full for yet even more so.

If that is the case though the decision to move Thorniley on seems odd, as we know exactly what we’ll be getting with him plus he has Championship experience, Sam has played well in League 2 but beyond that who knows.

Unless there’s a signing out of no where the right back positions would surely be the top target at the current time.

Who knows, I trust the club have everything in hand.

Re Thornily, there may have been an element of needing to move him on to maintain a wage structure. I think something similar was probably happening with Gary Goals.

Could well be that the player wanted out. It would make sense given we were told that he could move on- strange to say that then play him.

On Turton, the value of the player was there for the bods to see and they must have seen given the games he played. Again strange you'd let him go without a fight given the amount we are rumoured to have bid for Gabriel- surely some of that fee could have gone to Turton and another Gabriel signed on loan.

Yep. Very strange with Turton unless he was offered a much better contract from Huddersfield than we were willing to give. I would say that with Gabriel, there's the potential of recouping the fee plus more, if he goes well and develops - making the outlay worth it. As much as I liked Turtles, I can't see a situation where we develop him and sell him for a profit.

Well it’s a no brainer for me that Udders offered him a much better one.
On a free, Huddersfield will have offered a decent signing fee I would think. From what was said at the time, I got the impression that Turton had signed a pre-contract already and politely declined to discuss a contract with us as a result.
