After the news about the lifting of the ban on fracking, a policy that Scotty seems to be in favour of and the progress in reinstating flights to the airport (I assume he was instrumental in negotiating this). You'd think that he'd be crowing from the rooftops.

What's most exciting Scotty boy today? The UK moving its Israeli embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

It's almost like he's given up on Blackpool South.

He is allowed to tweet about other issues you know, oh and if you reside in Walthamstow, I would suggest maybe contacting your own MP about things that are occurring on a daily basis on your own door step other than a constituency 200 miles away😯

He asked a half-arsed question in parliament muttering something like will my constituents get thousands off their energy bill?

The minister tells him its possible and that we note he is sticking up for Blackpool.

You ask us a question we like, and we will say you`re great for Blackpool.

Job done.

What has he actually done for Blackpool then?
Well for a start he’s out knocking on doors & meeting people in his constituency.
In all my years when I lived in Blackpool (30 years) I never recalled Marsden knocking on my door once.
He lives here as well Marsden lived in Brighton let’s not forget.
I could go on all night if you want but I’am off to bed soon.

Is he still claiming his council allowance for Sheffield or wherever?

Apart from being a door to door salesman on behalf of the Conservatives what has he done for Blackpool? Not whataboutery or where he lives, what has he done?

Seriously what’s he done?
Well this is just September’s what has he done I won’t embarrass you any further by going further back.
He’s also the main player behind getting Blackpool airport open again to international flights possibly creating up to 200 jobs.
Like I said previously I can’t remember what Gordon Marsden did in two decades not to mention he never spoke out once against the Oystons.

Lives up the road from me and he’s always responded to emails I've sent him, never had that with Marsden!

He’s available 24/7 he never has his phone switched off to talk to his constituents.
Seriously people who slag him off clearly don’t know anything about him.
Gordon Marsden only cared about Gordon Marsden and I’ve voted Labour all my life, 20 years for this duffer.

That's the problem with these dyed in wool be it red or blue types they see no good on the opposite side when there ain't much difference between them all some good some bad.

Marsden was useless for the town but Cat Smith for example who represents Fleetwood is another hard working well liked MP who'd get my vote if I lived there.

Seems like a hard-working constituency MP, even if you don't agree with his party's policies 👍🏻 I've got Paul Maynard who I think is a master at flying under the radar, both locally and at Westminster.

Disagree.

As you may realise I'm no Tory supporter, but I've had a number of dealings with Paul and I think he's a great MP.

Because of his disability he doesn't court publicity lbut just gets on supporting his constituents.
Just my perception, Olly. I've had a few interactions with him over the years and have found him to be very adept at saying all the right things and doing what he wants anyway. I've sent him back bits of his own letters where, less than six months later, he's directly contradicting what he's said previously and he doesn't flinch. He's a Tory in the Lost Seasider mould - no particular values or beliefs - just a do what I'm told party man. imho of course. At least Scott Benton has the balls to set his stall out which I respect even if I don't agree with his politics.

How far away is Jerusalem?

To be a good constituency MP is the least we should expect. In my early civil service career I handled a lot of MPs' questions to Ministers. Some MPs were rank awful and it wasn't determined by party either. So if Benton is a good constituency MP then I'm happy that he is but it doesn't deserve a gold star.

Kind of is. If Walthamstow can't comment on Blackpool without criticism then why is the other fella given free reign to comment on Israel?
Nope the op was having a pop at Blackpool south and what Scott is doing for us, he can tweet what he wants 👍🏻

Cat doesn't live in Fleetwood
