David Hilton bought the club from the odious Peter Swann in January. He says the bank account was virtually empty when he took control because Swann used most of it for legal and other expenses. He says that the debt was greater than he thought and that he has spent a fortune paying off creditors, redundabncies and recriuting new players and is in legal disputes with Swann (who still controls the ground, but that is in dispute) and others. He has put the club up for sale again and has given banning orders to spporters who have criticidsed him and the club on social media, including some long standing fans.
Hilton, and 4 others, are now being investigated by the FA, with the suspician that there may be convictions for fraud, amongst other things.
It is the supporters I feel sorry for. As for the club.. well!
