Seasiders Mailing List

A long time ago, before Facebook, before Twitter, before AVFTT, when if you wanted an battery car you went to Batesons, there was the original Seasiders Mailing List. We're talking 20 years ago here. Just 150 or so Blackpool fans chatting about the football over email. No spam. No adverts. No clickbait. Not logins. No trolls. No moderators, because they weren't necessary.
So I had a dig around, and it still exists, with 180+ registered users. I sent a few test emails, and people are up for using it again. Footy chat old skool stylee! If you want to join in, drop me a DM and I'll send you instructions.

I don't know if it was that, but I was on something and it created thousands of emails.

Think I was first motivated by the abuse McMahon was getting and the Oyston (Karl mainly) love-in from his lounge hangers on.

@Tangerine Tractor - that sodding mailing list! My first e-mail address was on AOL and I had a card to pop in my computer for an old dial up - I must have joined the list within days of getting this and it got spammed and the first two days of using the internet I would sit and watch for hours as the slow dial up downloaded hundreds and hundreds of spam e-mails. After a few days I managed to unsubscribe from that sodding list with a very expensive phone bill .. so you can stick it where the sun don't shine 😁😁😁

Yeah, it got spammed once by a Nobber fan, literally thousands of emails. cleared up and a day or so and never happened again. We then moved the group to a better hosted mailing list solution (they were a thing back then) and it's been where it is now since about 2005 There are still over 170 active email addresses on the list, and it's quite nice to get a more relaxed, less intense conversation going.
