Season Tickets

After reading the minutes from the recent meeting, whilst it all seems positive and lots to come, I can’t help but be a bit miffed of the removal of the free junior season ticket.

I understand that there is miss use, there always has been and there should be stipulations in place which are easy to manage. Not used for x amount of games then a warning is issued. Not used again following the warning, season ticket removed. The removal of this and restricting it to family stand only has just left 3 adults and the junior deciding not to bother for next season, due to the increase in cost. I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this?

They have the stats and no doubt know those who don’t use them, then why don’t they just prevent those from purchasing and allow the legit users to continue?

I would try and negotiate directly on that one.

Tbh seeing the numbers who didn't attend and that explains some of the gaps we saw i guess something had to be done given our limited capacity and if we fill it its not only a better atmosphere but more cash.

Can't you go in the family stand? Or is it that much more to pay for kids elsewhere? How much more is it?

Oh I 100% agree something had to be done. As I said, stipulations could be added that it actually has to be used or it’s removed. It’s not hard to manage and easily done. It shouldn’t be used to then punish genuine users.

Moving to the family stand isn’t an option, as the seats/view is terrible. Not sure on price lift yet, but would imagine it being at least £50-£80, on top of the adult increase which is remounted to be £30 on another thread I’m sure I read. Near £200 increase compared to previous season. To add, I also left my money in the club during covid and also bought 3 adult season tickets when we didn’t know if we’d see a game… Stinks

Well I think it was 40 quid for 11-5 ages in the north or other areas, so I wouldn't imagine it'd be a lot for an under 5, plus the small increase each adult price.

Not ideal, but don't let it put you off.

We need all the fans we can, add to that atmosphere.

I know someone who gets their grand kids two tickets every season, the grand kids never use them but they are there for his mates if they want an upgrade.
Totally agree about the misuse.
People like that have impacted the genuine fan. That’s where the stipulation of it needs to be used for 3 consecutive Saturday games or a warning is issued. Not used again for the next 2 games or so then it’s removed and you can’t have it again. Simple

All those thousands of people desperately trying to get tickets for a sold-out Bloomfield Road must be so excited that the club are targeting infants in this way...

I have a season ticket for my (now) 5-year-old daughter. She came to about 4 games this season. Considering there are an average of 5,000 empty seats scattered around the ground; I don't feel guilty about that in any way, shape, or form.

I take your point but not aware of any seats with a terrible view anywhere in the ground. Maybe in the east.

Me and my Son sat in the south west family stand before the boycott, and it wasn’t bad at all , we now sit in the North West stand and the view is fine !

😳😳😳😳

How on earth do you work that out?

Last time I was in that part of the ground was for the 2nd leg of the play offs v Oxford. Nothing wrong with the view.

There isn't a bad view in the ground unless you're in the east.

Okay maybe it’s not a terrible view but it’s not a preference to sit there, compared to where I currently sit. Further to that, why should I or anyone else be forced to sit in a certain area of the ground?

The point is being missed here. How can a club want to try and secure the future generation of fans but remove one that is vital to doing that exact thing? Yes, the argument is there that the stats prove it isn’t being used correctly however maybe it’s the rules that need changing rather than the removal of the offer.

If you were a business owner, would you jeopardise the potential loss of near £1000+ match day revenue for the sake of trying to gain say £60/£80 whatever the junior ticket would now be? And that’s just my personal situation let alone others in a similar position.

Personally a bad move that contradicts the clubs comments about future fans.

Another question to ask, there are two blocks currently marked for family stand which is the south west corner. A lot to season ticket holders already in this area, so say they renew + forcing those with under 5s in there to obtain the free ticket. The stand will be almost full with season ticket holders so promoting an adult and junior ticket for £25 with a membership is like advertising holidays for the titanic.
