Second rival after Preston?

Any team in league 1 and Fleetwood locally. I fail to see how PNE or Burnley can be our rivals when we are in different leagues. Yes, we have historical links to both teams, but at present we are rivals no longer.

So Portsmouth and Southampton are no longer rivals?

Norwich and Ipswich are again this season but only as Ipswich were promoted in May?

Rivals remain rivals whatever league they’re in, it’s just so much better to be in the same league and be able to play out the rivalry for bragging rights!

That's ridiculous on a number of levels.

League status doesn't take away the historical rivalry. We hate Preston, they hate us. That's what makes it a great Derby game.

The first result I look for after I leave the ground is Preston, and it makes our wins sweeter when they lose.

It must be galling to hate someone intensely while the object of your ire doesn't give a stuff.

Bolton and Burnley are on a par as second tier rivals behind Preston for me, probably because I'm of an age when we played them in an era when going away was a scary yet exhilarating experience.

No other teams come close to those three for me.
