We posted this on the "Trains" thread, but thought we would share it under our own name.

BST are happy to collate views and experiences from yesterday on transport and security issues ; and then to share them with the club to inform the post-match debrief. We will publish whatever we send in an anonymised form.

If you want to share these with us you can do so at :

If there had been a major disturbance, or someone had fallen on the tracks, the Fans would have been blamed. With the current position with the FA, the Club would have another black mark. Northern Rail have a lot to answer. Perhaps BST can ask Northern Rail about their risk assessment process for planning around major sporting events.

The situation was farcical, as soon as I saw the pathetic temporary fencing, I said the fence would be pushed aside and there'd be a mass rush on to the platform once a train arrived. The fact that the police were nowhere to be seen, in that area, made it even easier for people to move the fencing. What I didn't see coming, nor did the OB, was someone climbing over the fence on to the Manchester bound platform and opening the unlocked gate allowing Pool fans to flood on to the platform where Bolton fans were boarding the train. It was a cock-up from start to finish by the Transport Police.

Bumping this, it’s important all the facts are collated. We don’t want this to happen again. Someone could get seriously hurt.

Maybe you can ask the club why they have a "blame the fans first" approach?

I don't remember seeing statements after we were treated like absolute scum at away grounds over the years?

Birmingham away a few years back was absolutely disgusting.
Preston away in recent years.

It feels like the easiest thing to do is assume Blackpool fans are being naughty and have a pop at them. Although there is no doubt we have fans causing a problem, the clubs approach isn't good.
