Should be a quiet night one here tonight?

Our league position has us in no man’s land and we’ve lost 9 games. We’ve wasted half a season before starting to play football to win. Critchley has left us way too much to do. I can’t see is going largely undefeated for the rest of the season with out defence. Let’s concentrate on our cup runs and playing well so we can do better next year.

There is nothing really wrong with our defence.

We are second in the league in clean sheets, and there are 15 of the 24 teams who concede more goals per game than us.

Away from home there is plenty wrong. 18 goals conceded and a minus 6 goal difference. You really think we will avoid losing more than one or two until the end of the season based on us just keeping things tight at home?

Well the problem is clear and it's not the home form. Bristol Rovers is a guaranteed defeat. That mindset and outcome has to change. Why do people always get giddy after a home win? Yes it's good that we won but means nothing if we go to Bristol and lose convincingly which being honest is likely to happen.

Save the giddiness for when there really is a reason to be giddy.

How do you know it’s a guaranteed defeat? Granted we’re not the favourites, but to say guaranteed is stupid.

Convinced you farm for likes

Doesn't take a genius to work out why. We are woeful away from home. My point is the same people come on here gloating at others when it's pointless as our home record had never been an issue.

How do you motivate players who have a relegation on their CV? At the end of the day, they still get paid. So you’ve got to make them care about winning.

To be honest, this is why AVFTT is a cesspit, you have gloating after a win and the other side gloating after a loss.

Personally I think we’ll see some upturn in away results over the next few months as it can’t be much worse🤣

Well as Blackpool fans you’d have to be pretty weird to gloat when Blackpool lose?

Unless you were a Nobber then you’d be all over it.

I don’t mind the ‘transparent’ nobbers who come on here for a bit of banter. But surely there are one or two closets posing as Pool ‘fans’ that really need to pack it in.

There are posters who disagree with my opinions, and I with theirs, but at least we are debating football. That’s what it’s all about. There is no right or wrong, as long as you’re respectful. There’s a difference between that and saying ridiculous things just to get a reaction. Otherwise known as trolling.

Then there is Paulco. Who is here purely to fill the PNEThor absence in our lives 🤣

Poor game today Exeter we’re chite for 85 minutes.
The highlights were the 2 goals and of course the 3 points.
Let’s not forget Bolton put 7 past this lot not all that long ago so we’ve still some way to go to catching them or indeed anyone else above us.
What has other results got to do with anything?
Let’s not forget we beat Portsmouth 4 - 0 at their place and yet Portsmouth beat Bolton 2 -0. Or does your logic work different for other teams

There are a few who absolutely love any chance to slag off Critchley, that’s what I was referring to.

He’s not immune to criticism before someone says, but some of the things said by grown men on here about him are nothing short of shameful.

Er, last time I looked at the table we’re behind these teams I’m on about both on points and games played and somehow 3 teams above us have got to have a poor second half of the season yet we must improve.

If you haven’t looked at the table lately I have been the same now for the last few weeks despite our excellent home form but we simply have to start picking up wins away from home and I’m afraid we just don’t look like doing it any time soon.

Apart from Pompey and Bolton everybody above it’s relied mostly on their away form and won so we didn’t really make any in roads

Hope we have as fully fit squad for Weds and Jordan practices his pens as we’ll get one

What a weird response. 🤷‍♂️
It is weird.
It's also weird how we win today's game comfortably, and when everyone should be celebrating, we read a post that is clearly intended to incite other posters to criticise and that criticism soon arrives! Now that's double weird!
The 3 points keeps us well in touch & with this squad, away wins will soon arrive. But let's not get carried away, as Exeter were awful.

I edited my comments just before you posted and took away the weird comments.
I do hope you are right about the away wins coming but for me I’ve seen nothing yet to see them suddenly start coming.

Where were we in the league this time of year when we last went up and finished 3rd?

Our defence, depending on personnel, is very slow and simple balls over the top can catch us out.

Lack of pace is a worry.

Is that you Simon? just because it’s happened before it’s going to happen like that again is it? Is that why we keep hiring past managers because it’s all going to happen as it did last time? Folk wanting Embleton back etc can we get into today’s world? We are not making those playoffs we will lose to Bristol next week and fall further behind it’s all about building for next season from here on.

You're so negative it can't be good for your health.

You didn’t answer my question and I can assure you I’m not Simon (i wish)

I'm considering writing my entire blog about that moment.
And yet there's no point bringing Apter back just to sit on the bench....

I feel like I don't understand anything any more. The world has left me behind. If it would stop for a second I'd get off and start the long walk back to normality.
