Been wanting to see it from us all season.

That red card wouldn’t happen if it was us. Our bench wouldn’t be up. Our centre half wouldn’t be going mad and our right back wouldn’t be rolling about like he’s been hit by Anthony Joshua’s right hand.

In this league you can’t be nice. That’s how we ended up with 10 men. We’ve been soft in most games.

I watched our Head Coach at half-time, he waited for the ref to come off, not sure why because he didn’t say anything but to be fair maybe waited till they got down the tunnel.

At half-time though, we flicked a switch.

Norburn snapped Lang. Take the yellow, Lang had to go off. See you later. That’s one threat gone.

Gabriel clattered the other winger revved up the Westies. Love that. The only thing missing was he should have picked him up when he hobbled back onto the pitch and launched him off.

We could have tried to get Moxon sent off a bit more, but Byers and Norburn had a go at least. Long overdue. Owen Moxon btw? Why did we bother chasing him, bar for a decent corner he’s bang average, Byers is far better, levels above Infact.

Then Dan Grimshaw, a quality collapse to the floor with nothing wrong with him. Just to slow it down. Excellent stuff.

Even the ball boys joined in, moving the ball about and hiding it. Lovely work lads.

Last mention for Norburn who had a bit of cat and mouse with their striker to get a 2nd ball off the pitch.

You see, we showed heart and fight today and a big pair of bollocks & the whole crowd responded, it’s amazing what seeing it can do to a crowd. It just makes you get up for it. The game probably suited NC’s tactics as he loves to soak up and break and stifle. Big shout outs to Marv who’s pocketed Bishop in both game, Gabriel for flying in and Byers who looks quality. Not sure on Beesley going through one-on-one looking like he had a parachute on, but that’s the only negative for now.

All season we’ve had the piss taken out of us with the dark arts, but today we looked like we realised you need to do it sometimes & long may it continue 👊🏼🧡

Massive game Tuesday now. If today doesn’t get them at it to break the midweek curse nothing will.

Thought the same. No one even protested. Why? We never do. We shithoused after that but it’s not something we normally do.

Beesley to his credit managed to get two of their players booked in the second half

Agree - good post. If only we'd had a few goes on goal when we did break through in the second half. Threaded balls are all well and good but chances for us were at a premium.

Exactly this. Someone was full of injustice in my ear at half time and I just said the best way is to try and level up the odds. Fines for anyone caught playing nicely. The ref was always going to lose his head before any players as you could see he was struggling. So make the decisions for him and shape how you want the game to go. Portsmouth do that and it goes towards why they can take points from most games. Use everything you can.

Proper spite in Gabriel’s tackle and great to see the claret on the ankle as he hobbled off. He even push the club doctor in a tantrum.
Everything you said there Adams, got me loving it. Proper Shithousery in response to their cynical crap.

What was missing was they’d already used all 3 sub slots with 20 mins to go. I wanted Joseph to clatter their keeper for a booking. They’d have been down to 10 men with no subs left and no keeper. That little bit of nasty guile is missing. One more of their players hobbling off in return for a yellow and we could have overhauled them.

If you’re waiting for referees to save you in this league you’re screwed, so it’s all about influencing their weak-decision making.

Their bench, the centre half and the little gimp of a right back got Rhodes sent off. Create an uproar, tell the ref it’s a clear elbow, look how hurt he is etc. whilst he rolls on the floor.

Gabriel got their winger booked for winning a header at the back post just by going down because the ref was clueless so fell for it.

Glad we didn’t feel sorry for ourselves and played the game because it’s been missing big-time when it’s not been comfortable for us this season.

Byers has helped with this massively. Shame Husband wasn’t on 2nd half as he’d have been amongst it.

Norburn, Gabriel and Hubby look to be the only ones who want it to go off.
Don’t see that in Marv - he’s our best defender but I don’t think he’s got the nasty streak to tackle like Jordan did on their winger.
That, like Norburn at the start of the second half was old school reducer / revenge tackling.

I’d have loved to have seen Madine come off the bench in that second half. The little bearded gimp who feigned death by Rhodes, would have been his first victim

Definitely. League One isn't an FA coaching course on shape and structure. You've got to do it. Whatever the rules are, bend them until they just about break.

Totally agree with this thread. I'm not really one for sh1thousery or being dirty for the sake of it but I do like to see that nasty side in a player when they feel aggrieved. Gabriel, Norburn, Byers to name 3 have it and without that today we wouldn't have held on. Norburn set the tone at the start of the 2nd half and he was constantly on at the ref all half. Thought he played really well today and him and Byers look a solid midfield. That's not to say anything against Albie who I think has been good this year but Byers and Norburn just seem to be in the right place.

Could be the difference between where we are & a play off spot, couldn’t it. Good old fashioned shthousery.

Madine wasn’t prolific, but he didn’t let us take any shxx when he wore Tangerine.

The referee was weak today and open to manipulation. Portsmouth were fully looking to exploit this and it was pleasing we didn’t fall victim to it like we have done in the past.

Let's hope the lads being aggrieved help us kick on. The shithousery has been missing, as well as consistency.

Loved it when Gabriel did that to the west, I think I saw some werthers originals go flying and I think a bovril was spilled.

It was hilarious at every challenge too with the shouts of "off off off off' but rightly so as if he's sending people off for jumping then let's call for it.

Yeah Grimshaws was a classic time wasting and get a breather.

The ball boys were funny, good to have some actually engaged in the cause.

That Norburn one had me in stitches, he just looked as if he was going to kick it off then pauses as if he thought their player would, but we knew what he was doing and it created a mini standoff for a second 😂

I think the red against us made us wise up and given them a taste of their own medicine.

Also, about NC, I think that sort of soaking up does suit him and that's probably why if we do get up he's good at getting us to stay up vs teams who mosty come at us to play and we can press with high energy, soak up and pick them off.

5 mins before half time:

Mike...
Yes boss?
Run up to the hotel and get Gary. Now...!

It is, by far the most annoyed I've been all season.
The bearded no.17, ex-Nobender fart, Joe Rafferty, and the referee, ALSO FROM PRESTON, couldn't have made it worse for Pool if it had been rehearsed .
The incident was right in front of us. A high ball came and Beesley went to jump when a Pompey player had his arms round his neck. We all screamed for a foul, (nothing given) the ball bounced and Rhodes came together with Rafferty. There was no foul, but Pompey bench and their players were saying it was an elbow to the head. Rafferty wriggled on the floor like he'd been punched by Tyson Fury. The ref, after a few seconds, unbelievably brandished the red card.
It wasn't even a foul, and it must be rescinded on appeal with an apology from the referee's association.
It's just a good job we didn't lose, as I think Pool were on top until the 43rd minute, with Rhodes, who had two efforts, a header and cross shot, both missing by inches.
I was proud of the whole team yesterday, especially Grimshaw, who hadn't had much to do prior to the red card.
