If you believe everything you read on here, you would think we were a promotion chasing team with great performances every week.

Matt Clarke is considered a good defender and first choice at Boro but injuries have set him back. It would definitely only be a loan. Perhaps that is all we are doing - shipping bad loans out and trying again with more loans.
 
I am hopeful there are more signings to come, Appleton himself said 2 or 3 this week and so far it has been 1 in and 2 out.

I wouldn't put too much trust in this, it just sounded very much like he was backing the board into a corner, whilst lining up his next excuse.

I never said I had, nor would I, but I've just not seen you do anything but rubbish/doubt everything anyone says........it seems like you're desperate for people to be wrong so you can say 'I told you so'

If I'm wrong then apologies, but that's how it comes across.

Ahhh, another dig at him.

How’s about the board need backing into a corner to actually put funds into the playing side of things. Their recruitment has been nothing more than shambolic of recent and the lack on investment in Summer means this window is MASSIVE.

Do or die. Up or down.

I haven't been shy about slamming our recent recruitment either. I have zero faith in Appleton but know the squad needs extra quality. I'll stop digging out the manager when he learns how to play players in their actual positions, have more than 1 plan and starts reacting sooner to the opposition dominating us. This season has been a car crash, from top to bottom. As you say, it's now or never!

Critchley also made substitutions far too late? Very rarely before the 70th minute in fact.

Maybe Appleton plays players out of position because he feels said players are better than the players he has who play that position?

Fair comment about Critchley but results, performances and tactics have badly exposed Appleton for the 1 trick pony he is. At best an average lg1 manager.

Genuine question, what did you think of Appleton playing Poveda out of position.
My Leeds mates can't believe we played him there!

If we play with actual wingers on the wing and a holding midfielder to tighten up the middle, I don't have too much of an issue. He caused more problems to Shef Utd and Sunderland than anyone else, so playing him the hole as it were, makes some sense. Certainly more sense than using Beesley as a winger!
