Similarities to last season

Got to say, there are a few similarities to the start of last season…

- Narrow defeats by the odd goal.
- Not having much luck with referees.
- Some strange choice of team selections by NC.
- Overpassing in non threatening areas.
- Starting the season with a couple of key positions lacking.
- The defence is a bit at sea. Some players are struggling on the evidence so far.
- Lacking that creative midfielder to effectively link to the forwards.
- Jerry needs a goal to start him off / general missed chances.

Need some of these areas to be addressed asap before the end of this transfer window.

It also feels like we are doing our pre season in the actual season - trying to work out partnerships, etc. The 2nd half vs Coventry was much better. Not having a settled squad from Covid / injuries / personnel changes has set us back a few weeks in our preparation. The whole team need a practice match, behind closed doors. Either way, a more settled squad should help, so that’s down to NC and the team selections. I’m really not a fan of changing half the team every match. Makes it harder to gain consistency and understanding.

Hope the season progresses on a similar track to last season once we get going. Not panicking yet.

👍Bang on with your pre-season comment. The Rangers game would have set a pedestal but unfortunately had to be satisfied with lower opposition. Did us no favours

I think Midfield is the main issue as it was at the start of last season, but we really aren’t helping ourselves sigh the centre back pairing and not signing a proper right back.

Cm is definitely the problem as we get dominated in there. This isn't a dig at Ward either who I think has been good.
We need Dougall fully fit and Stewart fully fit then I'd prob play either ward or keshi as the 3rd more attacking midfielder.

There are some big differences to last season. Early on last season we were dominating many games, playing some decent passing football and making loads of chances but not putting them away. We were a bit unlucky. This season we are not doing any of that.
