So proven managers with better players can’t get consistent results with him but Coventry think they can elicit 8 million pounds of value from him. I will be glad when saner heads prevail for the good of the game.

8 million... that's a hell of a lot for a club like Coventry to be spending on 1 player.

Yep this is the problem when other clubs know you have money in the bank, everyone expects you to pay to whack.
However, sell Gyorkeres and get Yates and Simms and still have a further 6M in the bank it could be considered good business.
Sorry don’t get the logic
.
All football clubs should be “financially astute”.

Ok a big pay day, when may they get the next?

Especially with SO many “dodgy owners” the likes of the EFL and in-turn the FA were in denial over through or “Oyston Times”.

What a “failure” both bodies were/are!!

Both heads of each establishments as undesirable as the Oystons.

Simon didn’t blow the Bowler/Critch Compensation Cash.

Thank God we have a decent owner that whilst reads AVFTT for “market research” can keep his “Business Brain” in gear.

And what idiot sees Ipswich had a four million bid rejected and then doubles the bid with no bids from other clubs?
They've paid an initial £3.5 million. The additional mainly hinges on promotion to the Premier League, at which point, it won't matter

He hasn’t failed wherever he’s played?? Odd post
Did Sunderland sign him? Nope. Could he impress any Everton manager starving for goals to to get a regular starting position? Nope. Did he have to drop a division to get a permanent move? Yep. So he is potential on legs and has not succeeded yet.

I’m fairness, the EV desperately need a clear out. Their finances are murky as hell right now and they’re going to need any cash they can get their hands on.

Sunderland were gutted when he got recalled by Lampard at Everton who decided to not start him.

Think Dyche started him once away at Anfield upfront on his jacks.

He’s had 3 loan spells.

Us - Success
Hearts- Success
Sunderland- Success

No player has done anything at Everton recently, especially strikers.

Proven he can score goals in the Championship so the initial 3.5m looks worth it. Nice to see a club sell and immediately reinvest.

If Sunderland was a success they would have bought him. Not at Newcastle levels but there is big money behind that club now.

General feeling on Sunderland forum seems to be that they would have liked to sign him, rate him, but feel the price Cov has paid is a tad high. Sunderland have signed 19 yr old Portuguese striker Luis Semedo from Benfica.

You talk pony. Just because a player is successful doesn’t mean he is signed by the club. We’re not talking Championship Manager, there’s thousands of reason why a player is not signed.
