Seen lots of threads stating we need backup.for Maxwell which we now seem to have. Not seen much praise for Simms. When he played last year in the games I saw he played really well, pulled of some great saves. Particularly one on ones by coming off his line, making himself big. Thought he did well against Rovers as well. Despite conceding two goals he pulled off two really good saves when strikers were through one on one. Did not think he had much chance for the goals, both poor defensive goals to concede. I would certainly be happy to give him his chance in behind a decent back line. I think at the moment, who ever is in goal will have their work cut out as we press high and defensively dont seem to have the quality we quite need yet.

De Gea, Lloris, Hart, Given, Van Der Sar and so on. I’m not sure needing to beef up is critical in becoming a top keeper.

Fat keepers obscure more of the goal. Every U11s coach knows that.
